In the New Yorker magazine, there is a regular political satire column called The Borowitz Report. Sometimes, when someone posts one of them on Facebook I have to look twice. Satire is becoming reality.

Since two or three years you hear german satirists make the same joke ever again, always in different variations.
The core always is politics became satire.

In Germany we have a satire party called "die Partei" "the Party". At the latest EU election they got 2.4% and could send 3 members to the parliament. If they reach 5% at the next national election they can join the German parliament.

My favourite "die Partei" policy is their one on invading Liechtenstein to force regime change to end feudalism there. :joy:

I voted for them at the EU election...
They have several great ideas. I like their "final voters" solution.
In most nations you aren't allowed to vote the first 18 years of your life. That's why you shouldn't be allowed to vote for the final 18 years of your life. :)

Hmmm, interesting. I doubt Trump, Brexit, the AFD, the FPÖ or Salvini would have got in with that electoral law. :joy:

Recently I watched 'The Day Shall Come' because I really enjoyed the last Chris Morris terrorism themed comedy. It wasn't as funny as I had expected, but it was a hell of a lot funnier when I learned afterward that there was more than a grain of truth to it.

Yes @englad , it's becoming more challenging. Not everyone realizes that Johnathan Pie- not his real name, or Boris Johnson are comedians. On the plus side there have always been plenty of people who just don't get satire, and these days they don't really need to.
