hawl: Apparently I am a long-standing member of the fastest-growing "religious" group in America-www.newhousenews.com/archive/okeefe112603.html. In this age of so many competing zealots, I hope this article cheers people up. To any "co-religionists" on the board I say: stay strong, bear witness, testify, and beware the infidel! :D

longtimelurker: I thought 14% sounded a bit low, so I went and checked with the UK 2001 census data to see how we compared, and we've only got 15% stating 'no religion' (although a further 4-5% did not state anything).

I'd imagine that this figure is going to grow quite rapidly here as time progresses, as our churches increasingly seem to be the bastions of the wrinkly - they just aren't attracting any young people. I can only think of 3 of my friends my age that are practicing religious.
