Well friends...the time has come.

my well documented problems with Windows Movie Maker have finally come to a head.

while working on and finishing #22 over the last couple of days, everything was going fine, then predictably, the problems started during saving of it...now everytime i go to even reopen the project, the movie maker can not open the project files, and then takes too long and then freezes.

I am officially past the end of my rope with this shitty program.

The unfortunate part is, that i have managed to save well over 1100 new cshot clips, that would have taken the series well up through another 12 episodes at least...

but i simply cannot do this anymore...i am tearing my hair out dealing with this wretched piece of shit Windows Movie Maker v2.1

I would like to continue to make the compilations, but i need help and advice in finding a *free*, simple, Movie Maker Software, that will not drive me crazy.

I know many of you love the comps and i take great pride in making them for those who do...

but i simply cannot do it with WMM anymore...it has finally driven me to madness.

so please, for anyone who wants the comps to continue and can offer assistance on the software advice front, what program to use and exactly where to download it, please post your ideas.

As i said...i would love to continue and have a ton of new material, but i have officially gone off the deep end with this wretched program.

Yeah WMM is very easy to use, but it's also glitchy as hell, ruining hours of work.
I don't blame ya Flashy, I personally switched to Adobe Premiere after a 15 minute film of mine got ruined in WMM. So PM me if you'd like some help makin' the switch.

you can download a good version of adobe premiere CS2 off of torrents, with keygens and registration gens... for free... and they work. i built a company off that kind of software

I'm a Mac user, and I know you can get a new Mac for less than $2000, but even I wouldn't recommend that route unless you were really ready for a new computer.

Consider a Linux install. I've put it on a few computers at work, and it's quite useable. Perhaps just a partition you could boot to occasionally for video editing if one of those programs is of interest.

Let's show appreciation for those many hours of his effort/torment in producing 21 unique Compilations - solely for our benefit and found only at LPSG. I for one would hate to see him giveup in frustration, as he indicates below. :frown1:
With -0- to little video editing experience, I will at least throw out a few suggestions/links in support of the Flashmeister and his quest for alternatives to replace the hated WMM. Possibly these may provide some guidance :

Flashy, you should check out virtualdub at virtualdub.org. Free software and reportedly good - at least referenced well by groff on empornium.

oh damn end of the comps! i was thinking about making a few comps myself and posting them on here for everyone in the between time when you was working on yours, 'cuz we all love the cum comps .

ill have a dig around on google to find some free movie making software and report back to this thread when i do, because i too HATE WMM.

My source for information like this is always lifehacker.com, they recently had a member call for "best of" video editing software: Lifehacker - Best Video Editing Software? - Hive Five

You might also want to look at "lite" versions of the software, i.e Adobe Premier Element for only $99. Free software like virtuadub, just won't have the interface that you are looking for. Torrents of the pro stuff could also be a solution, but they may be hard to setup for a non-techie.

You could also share your clip collection and let the community help you mash them up. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best of luck. I'm downloading one of your compliations now, hopefully I become a fan.

Pkhaos (a respected Compil. Reviewer) has uncovered w/ research
Then along comes recent Member jb1024, with more solid advice.
Trusting one of these provide that simpler, cheaper, yet capable Win-based video editor.
Alas, the torment for our friend may end shortly
