I imagine that often, the BBC does not own the international rights to the programmes that they broadcast in the UK, and if they do, they may well wish to sell these abroad.

On an altogether subject,I clicked on your,"The Trevor Project",and at last someone is aware of the vulnerability of the young,and not so young.

In the UK,the media,AND churches, completely ignore the dilemma facing some people who are battling painfully with their sexuality,without support,and sadly resort to self harm,and other measures.
It is an absolute disgrace.

Only a few years ago the Cardinal of Scotland stood on his cathedral steps,denouncing homosexuality,referring to it,among other things as "disgusting".The newspapers splashed his views across their front pages.

I watched it on TV as a student,and wondered how many young Scots we would lose in the following days.
"Loose tongues cost lives"----Winston Churchill.
Scotland/UK is a liberal democracy,but on this,they fail abysmally

Thanks for that. I've supported Trevor in the past and hope to be able to again in the future. Sadly, they have no need for volunteers in my area so right now about all I can do is help to publicize their service when possible. It's a great organization and one I wish had been around when I was young.

I think gay youth are among the most vulnerable members (or in some cases, outcasts) of American society. I know times are difficult but they really do a great deal with very little. Sometimes a voice on the other end of the phone with a directory of resources can be all someone needs to know he or she isn't alone.
