Most gays I know have dated at least one woman in their lives, some were even married. Most of these guys also admit to knowing they were gay almost their entire lives, and only dating women as an attempt to fit the mold. To those that have been on the shit end of this situation, how did you deal with the betrayal? Are you still friends with him? After 10 or 20 years of friendship, do you still think about it and hold it against him?

I dated a guy in HS who is gay. At the time, people told me rumors and it freaked me out. I had a little bit of internal homophobia. He's a facebook friend but not a super close friend. He's far hotter now than he was back then. Back then he was a geek with acne. People need to get the fuck over it.

my platonic life-partner is a queer as a three dollar easter bunny bill  only i knew he was gay when he thought he was just curious

i can't see how someone coming to terms with their sexuality is a betrayal of me. or even a guy trying to conform to some heteronormative expectation... i mean, i didn't cause and can't urm, fix *not the right word* what's going on.

i'd hope to have the maturity and compassion to recognize a human going through some serious angst. without being all caught up in a "this is all about me" head/butt circle of doom.

i've dated a few college-lesbian womangs.... they have since moved on to happy hubbies and a few of em with kinderhoppers. i'm happy for them. i'm glad i got to know them. a negative experience might change my feelings.

MickeyLee, I have a platonic life-partner as well. We're closer than my sister and me, and I can share with him just about anything. He, too, is flaming. I knew it when I met him because very few straight men would comment on my breast size when introducing himself.

He told me some time ago that he tried dating girls in high school and even college before giving up completely. He just had to know.

So I mentioned this thread to him over lunch a couple of days ago, and he told me that he actually is friends with a high school classmate whom he dated. She said she always knew he was gay and never expected anything more than a fun time.

Hopefully if this goes through he gets a better shot at playing than he did when with the Jets.
