The guy gets off, the girl doesn't - how often does this happen?

In straight sex movies, 99% of the scenes only show the guy having an orgasm and cumming; they almost never even pretend to show the woman orgasming/cumming. I figured that, in "real life", most guys would at least try to help their women come to orgasm, but I didn't realize it was so common. It doesn't even sound like you feel coerced at all; you're doing it because you want to.

I think that could be because the woman's orgasming/cumming is internal(unless she happens to be a squirter ala Flower Tucci) while of course, the guy cumming is external and can be seen and captured. Other than seeing maybe seeing certain body language, you won't know that the female has come, and even then we talking about porn. She can always fake it, with a guy can't fake a big wad of cum.

As for me, I enjoy the act of giving more than receiving, and seeing my woman satisfied has it's own rewards.

Well, unless you count the incessant, over-the-top screaming and moaning by the women in straight porn as the manifestation of their orgasms ... which I think is the message all that fakery is meant to convey.

Of course, in the real world women's orgasms seldom look anything like that. I would think that even a gay guy should be able to deduce that, given porn's questionable relationship with reality.

Lest you believe I thought the screaming was supposed to represent an orgasm; I never did; that's why I said it appears that the woman's orgasm is of no concern in straight sex movies.

Well, maybe you've learned something today, then! I'm pretty sure that the intended implication of all that racket is that she is cumming uncontrollably.

MisterMark. I would not take an answer on this page as "common". You are reading replies from guys who have a 6" girth. That's like an orgasm guarantee unless the girl is in pain from it or in a really bad mood. But according to some surveys a 6"+ girth occurs in maybe 1:100 guys, so this is far from common.

Good point. When I first heard the theory about about a 6" girth being much more likely to induce an orgasm, I doubted it, but now that I've heard it a few times, I'm starting to think there may be some truth to it.

Yeah, could be. One reason why I may not have made the connection between a woman screaming and her supposed orgasm in a video is that when I come across a scene or clip like that, I skip it almost immediately. I can't stand it. I'm a lot more turned on by the guy's(') talking and grunting, so if the woman's voice is dominating the scene, it's a big turn-off. I sometimes even end up saying out loud, "Oh, shut up!"

I find it a real turn-off too ... although mostly because it's so outrageously fake. :rolleyes2:

And yes, to second kanix, with women the girth is really the orgasm-maker, not the length. There's a curious disconnect since most straight guys think of penis size mostly in terms of length... even though length really isn't what does it for most women.

Maybe someone could get rich inventing an "adapter" for skinny penises to make them feel thicker - maybe a sleeve of some kind. That would be kind of amusing, I think.

If anything, I think you've proven here how unrepresentative of the real world porno is.

In my life, my SO cums twice for every one time I do when we're together. I pretty much always give her an orgasm orally prior to intercourse, then she cums again while we're having sex, and then I cum.

I like it that way. If I don't get her off before intercourse, or we at least don't have a fair amount of foreplay, there isn't enough natural lubricant to make sex enjoyable for either of us off the bat. Plus, it's more fun.

You know, this kind of thread is why I like LPSG as a forum for male sexuality. I have so much more respect for straight men now that I realise you are not just "box-bangers".

Porn is so unrepresentative of reality. That goes for gay porn too.

You know, this kind of thread is why I like LPSG as a forum for male sexuality.

That was my same reaction when I first saw the site many years ago. (I ended up owning the LPSG for a few years before I sold it to Rob.) I had never seen a site where men of all persuasions came together and talked in a civilized and intelligent manner about their sex lives and sexuality in general.

I'm glad I've gotten back into participating here. The site is educational and entertaining, among many other things. How often do you find a site about sex that is both educational and entertaining? I think it's pretty rare.

Forgive me for being a bit off topic, but kudos to you, Mr. Mark, and to Rob, for maintaining an outstanding site and service. I find this a great source of community, information and entertainment. I'm impressed and grateful. Keep up the good work.

My pleasure. It's all Rob's now, though. He's done an excellent job upgrading the site, and he's brought in a LOT more members than I ever did. I had a lot of distractions that kept me from putting a lot of time into it, but I think Rob has technical knowledge that I never had (and still don't! )

For guys who have sex with girls:

1. When you have intercourse with a woman, how often do you have an orgasm but she does not?

Before my wife had cancer, a few days out of every month I'd get head and she'd "rest."

2. If you're only receiving oral sex and the girl sucks your dick until you cum, what percentage of the time do you reciprocate and "go down" on her?

If she wants it, you bet!

3. Does it really even matter to you if she has an orgasm or not?

I used to be more conscious about making sure she came (usually twice from girl-on-top was her favorite) before I did, but these days after what chemo did to her body, we've learned to relax and enjoy what we can. God damn breast cancer!

And that's real life, baby. I'm glad she's alive, and back to at least being able to take all of me without the help of hormones. Didn't have much intercourse this past year.

Wow. I'm impressed with you guys. It seems like when I was a kid (20-30 years ago), there were a lot of straight guys who refused to go down on their girlfriends/wives, even though their girlfriends went down on them - or at least that's what they said.

I was having sex about 30 years ago, and I used to go down on my girlfriends not on day one, but sometime after I started having sex. I didn't know what I should be doing to get the result, and it took a lady to show me, and after that I never looked back. Maybe I was unusual, I remember at the time that sex was mostly man-oriented.

Another thing about 20 or 30 years ago was that it was pre-Internet, and there was little educational material around beyond sex education, which never covered oral sex on women! These days the knowledge is out there, and there's little excuse for men not to know what to do and how to do it, or for women to not expect their partner to do it to them.
