I haven't seen much agism in this thread. I think that NudeYorker was just pointing out the interesting effects of aging. Some age very well, while others look inexplicably haggard and wilted.

I agree that moderation is important... and eating your veggies.

I also agree that Will Smith has aged very well. Matt Dillon seems to be caught in some kind of time phase that prevents him from aging--he might actually have less wrinkles than 30 years ago.

I think we all mentally think of ourselves as "at another age." I know that I will forever
be 18 inside, which is far from my real age today. I am reminded of the real truth every
time I look in the mirror, but it does not bother me. Age and changes come to all of us.
We can help delay it by taking care of ourselves, or accept it graciously. I do not think
I have aged as well as some of my friends, thought most others do not guess my real age
correctly. Although that makes me feel good, I would not want to go back in time to an
earlier age.
It depresses me to see those side by side pics, but it's life and it will happen to all!
