This is my inner music snob coming out, but bands like that (and their respective fanbase stereotypes) are why its often difficult to get metal taken too seriously on many music fora (and in general). (Sorry if this comes off as sort of assholish, but I have such low opinions of those artists--especially Korn--that's hard for me to respectfully disagree.)

I tend to listen to a lot of progressive metal, though I'll give most subgenres a chance at least. (Unless it ends in -core. There is no -core subgenre that I can say I like beyond one or two bands.) Some of my favorites:

Rudra
Enslaved
Moonsorrow
Opeth
Dream Theater
Atheist
Subrosa
Porcupine Tree
Mastodon
Kekal
Cynic
Dark Angel

Like rob zombie. MM ....ok. Korn no.
I'm still listen to jP stuff. I do need something new.
Used to listen to obituary a lot ( younger)
About 10 years ago on Halloween ( not helloween) night I could not find the scary music.
Kids were flocking the street. So I Put on the obituary cd. Then I notice parents dragging their kids past our house.
So, no music that night.

Have I told you lately that I love you?

Seriously, Hells Yes to the metal. I'll post some Youtube Links when I get a chance, but yeah, it's all about the:

Old School Metallica
Motorhead
Sabbath
Maiden
CoC
Down
Megadeth
Black Label Society
Guns N Roses (Not Axl's new Runs N Poses)
Overkill
Testament
Priest
Ozzy
Dio

Ozzy and Sabbath are two different groups. I hate it when I ask people "what's your favorite Ozzy song?" and they go "Paranoid." Gives me teh Raygess.

I wish I could have, but I was in Europe at the time. Rudra is probably my favorite metal band.

I'm not quite sure what the next metal show I'm going to is; maybe Turisas and Alestorm, but I'm not sure. I probably won't see Opeth again. I saw them last time they came around, and while I enjoyed the setlist, I would have much rather heard their heavier stuff.

And Rob Zombie, MM and Korn are not heavy metal.

I'd argue that they are, just not very good metal.
