The Ideal Bed for Sex

What kind of "bed" have you found best suited for sex? Hard, soft, big, small, pillows, tall, close to the floor? Do you have any other sex condusive furniture or accessories that work?

Queen or king doesn't matter so much as height off the floor and softness of the surface.

Ours is a queen with one of those really deep European pillowtops on it, and the bed puts the top just about level with my hipbones. It's at the perfect height for her to lie on her back with her ass on the edge and have me entering from a standing position without needng to stand on my toes. It's also a comfortable height for her to bend over the edge and rest her upper body on during standing doggie sex.

These are aspects one must carefully consider when purchasing furniture of any kind...:wink:

I went with queen size since there wasn't an option for a revolving circular bed with 'magic fingers' located under a fully mirrored ceiling.

I'm glad you started this thread, Earl, I've been hoping someone could explain the link between the waterbed and the "sex machine" reputation that got associated with anyone who had them. I've had sex on a waterbed. It didn't rock my boat.

Well, it always seems to start on the floor (where there is a lot of room), with a lot of large, soft pillows. Then, for dessert...a hot shower and the big bed!

And the correct height on a bed makes such a difference.

I prefer queen or king, pillow tops, sensual fabrics and crimson sheets...:smile: The atmosphere of the bed itself does matter to me.

As long as its sturdy I dont mind, I once pulled a cheapy metal headboard away from the bed and was stuck with it in both hands right above my then partners head. Its funny to look back on but after seeing the jagged edges it could've been very dangerous.

Since I tend towards big-boned, tall men a queen sized bed is the bare minimum for comfort, experimental sex, and cuddling.

Actually now that I think about it, sex with men up to about 6'4" can easily be done in a queen size bed. However, for sex with men 6'4" - 6'8" it's best to go with a king size. Anyone over 6'8" probably needs a California king.

HazelGod brings up an excellent point. The proper bed height is imperative! I'm a leggy 5'8" and I HATE those low to the ground platform beds that have been all the rage the last few years. I'd rather have to use steps to climb into a bed than have the headboard barely reach my knees.

Size? Queen or king. Not sure which... Depends on my budget. Right now it'd be "Deal with the bed I have" (which is a full size or "double bed").

I've had sex on a waterbed before too - and got seasick! Or maybe it was because of the guy I was with (the second guy... the one who was an asshole..oh well...)

I like a soft-ish queen sized bed for sex (though I like a firm queen for sleeping). The size is big enough to give you room to play, but unlike a king bed, it forces you closer for the warmth of after sex snuggling. In a king bed, you can get kinda lost when playtime's over.

The best bed for sex? a hotel bed, preferably a decent hotel, but anything will do in a pinch.

Don't get me wrong, I'm perfectly happy with my love life, but sometimes a change of environment can be a wonderful thing

I'm also partial to the backseat of a car, but you need at least a mid-size for that to work well, unless you're both really limber.

I like couch sex a lot, lots of fun positions can be done on a couch. Since I got a memory foam mattress for my bed, sex has been much better. There's none of the problems that a normal inner spring causes. Heck, just having one has gotten me laid.
