Ha. I'm currently on hold with my ISP's customer support line. Why?

Because I can't open email or access any internet sites.... except this one.

I'm going to tell them as much. Too funny.

(and yes, I have performed all the usual fixes, before anyone asks)

I finally got a hold of tech support... apparently my whole area is affected.

They couldn't explain why I get this site and no others, though.

One possibility: Your ISP's DNS translation got hosed (DNS is what takes a "text" URL like "www.lpsg.org" and translates it into a numeric address "38.113.114.87").

Windows XP (and other OS's) will cache addresses it's used recently to avoid having to look them up from your ISP again whenever you want to connect. I'm guessing that since you already had the numeric address for LPSG stored on your computer, you were able to connect, but any other sites you wanted to connect to had to be looked up, and the look-up failed.

    That could have been it.

Everything seems back to normal now. Still, it's nice to know that when all else is lost, I still have LPSG.
