malito: My first feeling is one of intimidation at the thought of being with one of the guys that are so huge. But i think i would be up for meeting on or two some time. The wife and I are going to travel to milwaukee via portland and the northern part of the USA this summer. let me know if this is cool with any of you.
I have a thread in the personals asking for help in recommending motels etc.

yeah, i have met someone through LPSG
before,
and it was a very positive experience.
And yeah, i would like to make more friends through
this place.
To date i have met 3 close friends,
and 1 that has the potential to grow into
something more someday.

From my own experience meeting guys from the web, I use a 4 step program.

01. exchange emails and if all looks good, than exchange fone numbers.

02. exchange personal fotos via snail mail or email.

03. met at a place away from your home. ex: coffee shop.

04. have a get-a-way plan ready. ex: "It was great to meet you, but I have a appointment I need to make in 1/2 hour. Thanks again! Cheers!!"

I did meet my 1st BF on gay.com, so meeting guys from the web does work!

Best of luck! 8) - dag

SchroederJr: Well, I've only met a few people that I first met online. As far as I know, the only person I'm even close to is DMW (who's in Nola, right?). And at the end of next month I'll be in central Texas, far away from almost all of ya'll. Though I can't say I'd totally object to grabbing a meal with some of yous guyses. It'd be kinda neat...I guess.

Okay, I'll shut up now.

ORCABOMBER: Okay, just found this, so apologies if you don't want to see this.

Actually, I don't. :p

Well, I wouldn't mind meeting some of you guys, I suppose it's only the Bristish ones, but finances are short at the mo, but it'd be cool I think, I've met quite a lot of people online that way and they're genuinely nice people.

BTW, Bb, you're in London???! When!

mm5166: Oh, I could meet somebody from here and go into all kind of subjects, but being the horny guy I am, not picturing the guy nude in front of me would be very hard ! (very hard... oOOoOO innuendo !)

So it's better if I dont meet anybody from here ;)

7x6andchg: Well I have met someone in person from the board now...and made a wonderful new friend. IRL is different and, in my opinion, better.

I think breaking the veil of anonymity of the internet with someone you have learned quite a bit about is a good thing.

longtimelurker: I think I'm having one of those S-L-O-W days - after my 3rd look at this thread I've finally realised what IRL stands for - doh! (I'm embarrassed to say that I thought it was something to do with Ireland originally! :-[)

If I was to meet up with someone it would have to be someone that I felt that I struck a good online rapport with - pref. with a good bit of IM'ing as well. I wouldn't want to meet with someone just because they post here.

7x6andchg: Well, and LTL, that's what I'm saying...it was someone with whom I had found a rapport and with whom I had chatted several times on IM....

prepstudinsc: I still think that we need to have a LPSG meet and greet over a long weekend or something. It would be cool to meet in person the people from this board.

I agree with Tender that there are several on here that I'd do lunch with.

Likewise Tender, I think the small pic doesn't do you justice though!

awellhungboi: There's a lot of people here I'd like to meet in real life too. We should seriously consider doing something along these lines. I could stand to get out of Chapel Hill for a few days in the Spring. I hear Wisconsin is nice that time of year. :D

7x6andchg: In the spring? Are you kidding? :D

Wait until summer or fall - both are much nicer.

I've often thought Minneapolis would make a great location - centrally located in North America and well, it's the home of the Mall of America...and an hour from me.
