And to think Anna Nicole Smith came very close to getting a chunk of Kock Industries because the old sugar daddy Howard Marshall was one of their major pardners.

They're like the Hunt brothers who tried to corral the world silver market in the 80s. Fortunately, they were caught before they could finish their devious plans. Sadly, the Koch brothers are substantially more intelligent than those good ol' ketchup boiyze of the 80s.

    I'm paralyzed with fear. Seriously.

To anyone who knows how to connect the dots, this doesn't come as any surprise whatsoever. What's worse is that even the Koch Brothers are just a piece of puzzle that leads to an even bigger entity... the American Legislative Exchange Council. Along with the Koch Brothers, ALEC is another organization we REALLY need to pay attention to since they're the ones penning these crazy laws that the lobbyists and some GOP politicians try to push through Congress such as the infamous SB1070 "Papers Please" bill in Arizona, and the collective bargaining stripping bills in Wisconsin in which the Koch Brothers had influence in designing.

It's some very scary shit... some people really need to start paying attention.

Great video... the 'Kochtopus' figures prominently in the American landscape (visible and invisible). I'm sure someone will criticize the source of this article, but the New Yorker magazine printed a brilliant piece last year about the Koch efforts to unseat President Obama (the video mentioned a plan to spend $88 million to do so). The UK's Guardian also reported on the move to support 'conservative politicans and causes' last month. The Koch brothers are sinister, but they speak the lingua franca of American politics: money.

For those of you in the GLBT community, I think you should be doubly worried: the Koch agenda is about more than deregulating American industry... they play to social progressives by 'supporting' so-called gay marriage, but their support is a byproduct of their Libertarian viewpoints. I fully expect to see them courting on-the-fence Obama supporters with a siren song of equality, rainbows, and unicorns -- but it's window-dressing for a much broader campaign to remove the Government from the landscape in civil rights. You can read the Libertarian platform here.

The Log Cabin Republicans (still an oxymoron to me) have already taken the bait and called out the Human Rights Campaign for endorsing President Obama in 2012. This is exactly what the RNC is hoping for, the Tea Partiers need, and the Koch brothers have their fingers in creating: widespread divisions in the blocks of voters that supported Obama over McCain in 2008. Those divisions are their only hope of replacing President Obama in the next election cycle.
