So the Govenment has chosen No Smoking Day to unveil plans which will lead to cigarettes being dawn from open display in shops. Now for the record, I'm not a smoker and never have been. However it strikes me that smokers are the last minority which can be persecuted with apparent
impunity. Nowadays we rightly have legislation which criminalises discrimation on the basis of gender, sexuality and race. No such protection is offered to smokers who are, after all, significant contributors to the exchequer. I think it's lamentable that stupid (the Con-Dem coalition) are now implementing double stupid's (i.e. Labour's) legislation.
