The Lounge

Did you hear about the agnostic dyslexic insomniac?

He's up all night wondering if there's a dog.

(ba-da-bump!)

OK, I'm not the true Master of the Quip that is our friend Pecker, but I tried, right? :D

EDIT: Before anyone chooses to lecture me about the finer points of dyslexia, just relax. I know it's not that simple. This joke, however, is exactly that simple. :)

Then there was the dyslexic frat guy who went to the toga party dressed as a goat
...or the cop who was arrested for handing out I.U.D.'s
...and the devilworshipers who sold their souls to Santa
...or how about the trucker with the bumpersticker "Dog Is My Co-Pilot"
...and the old man who kept telling raft jokes
(somebody stop me!)
...then there's the dyslexic Jew who slaps his forehead and says, "Yo!"

all I can say to you pecker is *groan* :)

TAG, that story with your son was so cute, when my son was little, we used to get him to stand up in his highchair /booster seat to clean him off after meals...and we'd get ito the whole "will the real slim shady please stand up" and he'd dance :)

*note to self* need to spend more time at LPSG, to many new threads are way to fun to pass up

My half-sister's family lives in Daytona...maybe during a visit they'll see eachother and not even know it! lol. I hope she's doing great! She was great here while she was here (but NOBODY could ever dethrone you, Jana :p)

If you get detained by a cop for being slightly intoxicated and doing cartwheels in the middle of the street, what's the radio code for that?

(No, really. It happened to me last night.)

I offered 722.6. I don't know; it just sounds good to me.

I think that is Ken Campbell, a comedic actor that was the voice of the baby in that TV show that lasted a week or two. He has a distinctive voice, and I've seen him in some movies. He is much bigger than a baby!

LapDog :9 :p :9

Or the dyslexic cow that goes ooooooooooooMMMMMMM

Ok, so like, tonight I'm makin somethin complicated (for me to be cooking, at least). I'm making Spanish rice. I'll let ya guys know how it turns out.

It's basically rice cooked in tomato sauce. Add some onion and green pepper and mustard (oddly enough). It's REALLY good. I can't believe I didn't screw it up! I'm so stoked! For next time, however, I need to add more salt. Other than that, nummy nummy in my tummy!

The website works off of whatever time zone you pick under Board Settings (I think on the left side under My Controls).

Mmmmm...Spanish rice. One of the major things I miss about no longer living in Texas is the Tex-Mex food. I SO miss it!

Spanish rice sounds like just the thing to make me forget that we have SNOW in the forecast this weekend! After a week of sun and high sixties, we're dropping temps and expecting flurries by Sunday.

AGH!

I'll have to dig up a recipe! (unless you decide to post your own magical version, surferboy...)

Every Spanish-speaking country has its own interpretation of Spanish rice. Here's a recipe for the Cuban version. It's simple and tasty.

TOMATE con ARROZ (SPANISH RICE - CUBAN STYLE)

1 c. pearl rice
2 c. water
1 tsp. butter
1 can tomato paste
1/2 c. olive oil
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
minced onion (to taste)
minced garlic (to taste)
1/2 c. smoked ham

Bring the 2 cups of water to a boil and add butter and rice. Cover, lower heat, and steam for 20 minutes. In a skillet heat olive oil, ham, tomato paste and seasonings. Do not over heat. When rice is ready, mix with the ingredients in the skillet and enjoy your meal. Makes 4 servings. Goes great with Cuban style black beans!
