I am truly ashamed and very afraid of the rise of the rabid right-wing conservative movement. This is not the America I was raised to love.

In all honesty, at times rabid left-wingers scare me just as much as rabid right-wingers. Sometimes I have a hard time differentiating between the two. I've also seen some pretty damned disturbing Dem election commercials and heard some equally as disturbing comments made during some of the debates from Democratic lips.

I can't even express how depressed and distraught I am by this. I don't think people have any clue how much trouble we're in here. They think it's politics as usual, only a little nastier. It's much more than that; it's a major backlash. The Republican party is selling what little may be left of its cynical soul to add the Teabaggers to its base - to take power and advance a corporatist agenda. It's all co opted, orchestrated, fueled and financed by corporate money and machinery, and if we don't stop it, this country is in serious, serious trouble. Which means we're in serious, serious trouble.

I don't even know who you're referring to as "rabid left-wingers", unless you refer to the sort of anarchistic hooligans who show up to protest the meetings of the G-20 and such - completely lacking in any political power, economic power or organization. Maybe you'd like to enlighten us with some examples of "rabid left-wingers"??
