Which deaths were the most tragic in all of Hollywood deaths that made you wish it didn't happen, no matter how many tapes or DVDs we have to our favorite actors from the Golden Hollywood days...? Which deaths you felt were the most tragic of them all? You don't have be a 100 percent right on this. Just name one particular star you felt deserved a better end than a tragedy.

    Mine:

Montgomery Clift...true, by the late 50s and 60s...he was considered a has-been by then, but the way he ended it was so awful. True, he was at fault with his own demons and didn't win the war, sadly. Man, what a sad way to go.

It's a tie for me between Natalie Wood and Grace Kelly.

You read my mind, though I'd add Rock Hudson.

Sal Mineo and that hunk who was on that models show. John Eric Hexum. Not to forget Vic Morrows untimely death being decapitadd on a Spielberg movie. He's Jennifer Jason Leighs father.

Sharon Tate - she and 5 others were slaughtered by Members of the Charles Manson Family on 9th Aug 1969. This house was demolished in 1994, rebuilt and the number changed

I never considered Sharon Tate from the Golden Era of Hollywood, but I will say I would have to agree that this was the most tragic death in Hollywood ever.

Silent movie star Ramon Navarro, beaten to death by two brothers whom he'd hired to have sex with him. They had heard he kept a large sum of money and they beat him to learn where it was ... but Navarro had no stash, and they left with a mere $20.

whilst not a death technically..i always felt that Frances Farmers committal and incarceration in an asylum was particularly tragic and avoidable....

Weren't one of the brothers in Ramon Navarro's room a minor and the other one being in his 20s...? Either that or I must have read something about that...

About the Sal Mineo case, that almost went nowhere and it was dropped like a hot patatoe due to his star status. When the case was fresh, they all suspected it was a jealous gay lover of Sal's, but that was not the case. To think, it took years to resurface when it really was a pizza diiveryman named Lionel Ray Williams that never knew who Sal was, but was just interested in the money he had. It was a robbery that was botched. It was just plain terrible and you think that could have avoided. And he would probably have his comeback. Probably not then, but possibly like in the next several years or something. It was just sad all around what happened to him.
