NKC has always been one of my favorite singers. So smooth, so great, so perfect. Tonight's PBS special on him was a good overview of his career yet too short. His career and life really demands the Mr. Burns, king of PBS documentaries treatment.
Can there ever be a better rendition of Tenderly? YouTube - Tenderly - Nat King Cole with Oscar Peteron Trio

he even had the good sense to feature rockabilly kids The Sparkeltones on his show YouTube - The Sparkletones 1956 on The Nat King Cole Show

and the luscious Peggy Lee YouTube - Nat King Cole NBC Show -4-

There's too much to be said about NKC. A giant,an enormous talent and someone that's left his musical imprint on the playlist of my life. Watch the show on yr local pbs station.

PS i love his background singers. I wish I had a band like the Hi-Lo's to orchestrate my life...ya know they could sing behind me at the supermarket, iin the subway and just sing in their background singer way about what I'm doing...lol.
