I think the two things are probably related. You can probably get an erection up to a certain amount or duration of pumping, but not if you push it too far. Danny D seems to manage with it OK and it's heavy enough to be noticable. As others have suggested, pills or something might also help.

Exactly! Even the pictures you see from British stuff. From watching stuff like Danny and Julio's, it often seems like they may also be "refreshing" the pump periodically through the shooting. It'll look better at some point, then bloat back up, but we could also be seeing the scenes out of sequence or something.
