The nfl and the idiots that take a knee and the anti-americans that you're them on.

It's not a simple yes or no. If you remove the obscene paycheck then there could very well be some that do. I don't know how each and every one feels personally towards the country, nor do I know what their definition of a patriot is, or for that matter your definition of a patriot is.

Ahh we have our own Laura Ingraham here. Foxy News is hiring I hear. The anger over the money they make is a critical piece of the pie here as if money is supposed to buy silence in the face of injustice as say Uncle Ben Carson does.

They're technically not doing anything with the anthem except failing to stand in reverence while it is played. They are not interrupting it, disrupting it, obscuring the singer, etc.

For someone who has an interest in standing in reverence while it is played, there is absolutely nothing that the players are doing that prevents or inhibits that.

You're right it's not a disruption, but there are some of us out there that view the lack of standing and paying reverence to it is a for if disrespecting it. We all know it's your freedom of speach right to be able to do that. It doesn't mean we have to like it. And that's our freedom of speach right. But I said it earlier just because you have the right to do something doesn't mean that you should though. There are other ways to get your message out there, that won't make a good portion of us upset at your method.

Didn't your mom ever tell you to just worry about what's on your own plate and not someone else's though?

If you're standing in reverence for the anthem, as long as they're not actively disrupting it then what anyone else is doing or not doing during it shouldn't matter.

Suppose you attend church and arrive late to mass one day. It's one of those moments for silent prayer. You see most people praying, one person looking around at the stained glass and architecture, and one person staring at them with a scolding expression on their face clearly disturbed that the other person isn't praying. If you had to pick only one person from this scenario, who would you say is the person who is most in the wrong?

That's easy. I'm wrong for arriving late.

If they honestly view the country in such a negative way and have that much disgust and loath in their hearts they they can't find more good in America than bad then how they see the anthem and flag is just a small symptom manifesting from a much bigger problem, and I hate to say it and sound like one of those guys and say but maybe they should relocate to another country and find the better life for themselves and their family that they believe they are not getting here, or believe they can't get here in the states. I know we are not perfect and never will be perfect. The US will never be a utopia, but as long as they can honestly say that their life is at least 51% better here than anyplace else. And that can find at least 51% percent good in their lives here with their family then don't do that to the anthem. Be happy for the good you have and do your best to change the bad. But if you have that much hate in you that using the anthem in a negative way to fuel your personal agenda and message is the only way then honestly maybe you should go someplace else, and then you can curse the anthem and burn the flag all you want.

i know this is the politically correct answer you're looking for and it's going to make all the left'sts explode into soap boxes. But if you honestly believe America has personally done you so wrong and treated your family so horribly then honestly why would you want to stay and keep subjecting yourself to it?

And there we have it. Took awhile for him to spit it OUT, but there we have it. The "love it or leave it" response. As in, black people who were being discriminated against in a segregated South in the 60's SHOULDN'T have put themselves out there, protesting, and in many cases, laying their very LIVES on the line to bring about CHANGE.

Nahhhhhhhh.... THEY should've just packed up and LEFT.

Does anyone realize how difficult it is to pack up and leave, become a citizen of another country? Easier to try and change this one and make it better or "a more perfect union"

So tired of #MAGA, dogwhistle for make America white again.

You do realize you took that completely wrong and didn't listen to anything I said at all except the leave part. so let me explain it just this once for you. I said if that person them self has so much hatred and lothing for this country that they are not happy at all being here, then maybe they should leave and try some other country where they would be happy and eventually flourish. I was looking at it from the point of view of a person who is completely miserable day in and day out and has nothing to be happy about. That's not healthy at all. Its along the same lines of this and this an example mind you. If your job makes you so miserable that you cant stand being there and you dread waking up and getting ready to go and when you're home you dread going back the next day. the fact that everything about it makes you miserable, angry, or both. what would you do? Stay there and be miserable your whole life or would you go and find a better job that you're happy at? If you don't like the town you live in, you hate the area, the weather, the schools, and the crime rate and the taxes and cost of living. Nothing about it makes you happy or feel safe, do you stay and be scared and miserable or do you find a better place to live? But hey if you want to stay in a place and be 100% miserable and unhappy 24/7 just to prove me wrong the so be it, because at the end of the night its no skin off my ass if you're happy or not.

I know its not easy, I know I looked into moving to Australia myself. but I'm still here because there are still more things about America that make me happy than there are things that make me mad.

What is "it"?

The issue of people taking a knee during the anthem?

Because you already admitted (regardless of the accuracy of your reasons for it) that this doesn't cover NFL players.

And if it doesn't cover NFL players, then why bring this into the discussion at all?

You keep trying to rephrase it yet only succeed in confirming that I (we) didn't take it wrong at ALL.

So just for argument's sake allow me to rephrase your question for YOU.

During Obama's presidency, many conservatives and Republicans actually SIGNED PETITIONS, in favor of their state's succession from America. MANY in Alaska signed a PETITION for their state to quit the United States and ally with Putin, no less, as a Russian state.

So I ask, if THEY had "so much hatred and lothing [sic] for this country that they [weren't] happy at all being here" then why the fk didn't THEY just "leave and try some other country where they would be happy and eventually flourish"???

sorry but I don't know why they did what they did, you're going all racial defensy on me because I was asked a question about 5 whole pages ago by someone who I was having a logical debate with and that was my opinion. And I stand by it, if you're not happy then make a change. if that change is leaving then leave. I don't give a crap about what nationality and or race you are. that applys to us white people as well. The only one that left because he said he would was johnny depp. so same question for you. all the famous Hollywood stars that said they would leave the country if trump made president are all still here except for Depp. They are all rich as frack and have the money to move to another country and make it easy on themselves, but they didn't. so why didn't they. Oprah could buy a small country with her money, she said she would leave if trump became president but she is still here. Whoopie is still here. she said it too. The Trump/Obama move away goes both ways. both sides said it and both sides didn't do it.

Where did I mention race?

I merely asked you the same kind of question YOU asked. Why didn't those who went so far as to sign petitions of succession and petitions to join RUSSIA (WE sure as hell haven't done anything of the kind) just LEAVE and try some other country (your words) where they'd be happy??

Citation please!

The internet's got a long memory. Please source me Oprah Winfrey stating that she would ex-patriate if Trump were to win the presidency.

Oprah is not an obscure celebrity so it should be easy for you to find these remarks. I'll be waiting.
