As a foreigner (from the UK), I must agree that racism is alive and well in the US. Having seen policemen get away with murder I am shocked. There are no other words for it, it is shocking.
It’s true that in the UK and most European countries there is also racism and it can be institutional racism, but the fact that most police forces here are not armed means it doesn’t usually lead to such tragedy.
When I see Colin Kaepernick kneel, I see a man kneeling humbly to request dignity and respect of all humans. This is a serious problem that any foreigner can see is something dark and wrong with America.
