I voted in a thread (on that forum) that it should be closed. However I immediately had second thoughts.

Consider this: The forum allows a place for all the whiners to congregate and vent off one another, in their own arena, where the rest of us can conveniently IGNORE them.

If it were closed then we'd have to put up with it in this one.

It should be closed, but before closing it, the moderators should count its participants. The top five as yet unbanned posters should be suspended for a month.
That is all, ya bastids.

I agree, it should be closed now that the election and inauguration are over and done.

Hmm, I have no idea who the top 5 posters are in that forum so I don't know if they should be banned, just based on the fact they post a lot.

Frankly I have no idea why an ultra conservative posts on this site at all; but that's just me.

In lieu of banning, give 'em one month of hard time:

In a circumcision debate cage thread.

They might pick up a few tips... and with luck they'll get a head.

Rob needs to code it so that the forums have a dropdown menu and you don't have to look at the politics forum. And that you could choose to ignore certain forums and that even then if you ignored a forum it wouldn't show up under recent posts.

It is highly curious that some people who have been on here for a few YEARS have insanely low post counts and then discover the politics forum and all the sudden rack up hundreds of posts in there in just a few months

Maybe not allow people to post in that forum unless they have X number of posts? That way "we" the board members kind of know them and they aren't here solely to rail against politicians etc...

Just my thoughts on it.

Alternatively, Rob could change nothing, and you could just ignore the stuff you have no interest in - like I do with the "raping a guy in his sleep" or anything that mentions a family member threads.

Biba, la politica!

Hey, I post in there a few times a week and if you don't like it, lump it.
