BluECliQ: I watched a documentary about the porn industry last night on HBO...I forget the exact name of it...XXX something. Anyway I watched it more because I was horny than interested in learning about it...but it turned out to be real interesting. It was a lot of behinds the scenes stuff and talking with various actors/actresses/directors and their reasons for going into the business. Apparently a lot of people don't make it and end up leaving the industry soon after they went into it and end up regreting it, but a lot of people do make good money off it.

Women make a lot more money than men in straight films, gay guys make the most of anyone. It just seemed interesting to me. Has anyone here ever been in fianancial trouble and ever gave thought to making some films?

I was asked if I wanted to be in a porn once while I was staying at a gay resort in Palm Springs. But after seeing it being filmed I wasn't interested. It took hours just to film one scene. Lighting issues, camera angles, sound problems... Its a real film set. No wonder those porn actors have to have those erection injections! I've thought about it too, but that's about as far as it has been. I don't think I would do a full-on porn movie so much as an amateur jerking thing. Let's face it. I jizz enough as it is and if someone's gonna pay me for shooting it, so be it. Intrigue or not, unless I was 110% sure they could mask my identity, I wouldn't do it; my career matters more than a quick buck. (Just a lot of quick bucks are tempting, no?)

I tend to agree with Dee on the subject. I mean it's flattering, you know if you want to make some extra scratch for screwing on film, but I don't plan on totally showing my mug if I decide to, unless it can be hidden, with or without the cumshot.

I know, modesty has a big factor in this, but let's face it; unless you plan relocating someplace where nobody knows you, or you don't care what other people's opions are, I'd rather remain as anonymous as possible.

Well, aside from the consequences, a life in porn would be pretty cool. Women get paid more than men, but regardless, you'd still be able to make money, should you get going in the business. I too have seen a documentary on HBO about the porn industry in California, but the one I watched was called "Pornucopia: going down in the valley."

But I made a promise to myself a long time ago that if it should ever come to that desperate of times, I would not do porn to make a living. For one, I hear that you have to do gay porn first, which I would not do, and that several pornstars regret getting into this business, as they risk their lives and fornicate for a living, and they have some personal regrets about that.

While appealing, not gonna happen for me, except in my dreams.

The_Swinging_Voter: I've had two experiences with porn, one weird and the other a complete turn-off (even stopped me watching them for quite a while). The firs time I answered an ad, sent in a pic or two and profile and was 'hired' to do a boy-girl scene. Arrived on the set to be greeted by an absolute stunner and a guy who looked like the most stereotypical 'sleezy director' you could imagine. Make a long story short, I never got paid, there turned out to be no movie and the guy and girl were married and were acting out some kind of fantasy scene. Very, very weird but on the upside an absolute hottie and I got laid (I was 19 so what did I care).

Second time was for a series of vids they were planning to shoot here in Australia with a porn actress called Sunny McKay (an Aussie so dont know if anyone remembers her). The pay was minimal, the sex was appalling, the waiting around was a killer and the whole experience a real turn-off. Upshot was, I dont know what happened with the vid as I never saw it on the shelf (dont even know if my scene made it) but it was probably bought and spliced into one of those compilation things.

Im not ashamed but those sort of things do have a habit of coming back to bite you on the bum later in life plus there was the whole issue of not using condoms. If i hadn't been young and stupid I would have run a mile when I knew there wasnt protection. Thank my lucky stars I didnt catch anything but its a dumb thing to leave to chance.

End advice is if you want to make porn get a video camera and your girlfriend and go crazy but leave the pro stuff for watching, not appearing in.

I myself do want to go into the porn industry, Only if i was doing videos for respectable compants though. Like Vivid or something, none the shady crap that goes on. Its abit hard to get in though, for me especially since i am heavily tattooed and things but oh well some day soon i hope.

There was this series on the Women's Channel (WE) called Secret Lives of Women and one of the professions they covered was "Women of Porn".....

I watched that twice....it was very interesting.
I always suspected they had their own separate health clinic and are tested once a month.

I didn't know so many of them are married.
