As a woman, I'm displeased with the brassiere industry.
I can not find the perfect cross your heart support my breasts long for.

Here's more about breast support.

245DL: anniemae, this is a specialty of mine. I made custom bras for several years, but I had a tough time finding customers willing to pay what I thought was fair for my work. So I quit the business.

But I still keep current on what's out there. A dear friend wears a 52J - if I can help HER find the right bra, I'm sure I can help you.

I'm not large but one boob is at least a half cup size larger than the other so finding a bra that fits correctly is almost impossible.

I found the new IPEX bra from Victorias Secret to be a pleasant surprise, they fit my almost C's perfectly. Some of those padded underwire bras really hurt after a long day.

Unfortunately, Victoria's Secret has completely FAILED to make ANY attempt to capture the larger market. I am at the top of their size range (not for cup size, but for band size). As far as I know, they go up to a 40DD. Doesn't help most well-endowed women much!

I second Madame's vote for Frederick's. They will also give you a free fitting at Frederick's, which can really help getting an idea of where to start looking for the right fit. AND they're pretty!

Excellent advise given here. I have been pretty fortunate to be able to purchase my bras at regular department stores with no worries. Zora provided some really excellent information about purchasing the right size for your body as well. Being heavily involved in pageantry, I learned early about how to accurately measure for my size (band) and my cup size.

As for underwires... you get accustom to them. Again, I am fortunate that I am not a larger woman and thus do not have all the other problems associated with the underwire. Granted, they are not hte most comfortable things in the world, especially when you wear them for 10-15 hours a day, but when fitted right, they make you look well supported. :)

It's true, I'm very uneven and always have been. One boob is decidedly larger than the other so a regular bra fits one side better than the other. I'm either spilling over or getting lost in it, depending on the bra itself. It's a minor annoyance.

petite_asianbabe: Wow, I learned some interesting tips from you gals! I usually have to try on countless bras to find one that fits and supports perfectly, but some bras only work with certain outfits. (You know how some tight fitting tops can totally be ruined by the wrong bra!) And on top of that some of my girlfriends will look better in certain outfits than I do, even though we are the same size and dimensions! Must be a different firmness in the breasts.

Sigh!!

petite_asianbabe: another thing I forgot to mention is the never ending quest for the perfect jean and comfortable high heel shoe ... I think that's a topic for future discussion, right gals?! :D

Yup.
Men share the same "different firmness" - not only between different guys, but from the same fella at different times. This - can be annoying.
