Colorism isn't racism. White people don't think they are superior to black people because their skin is more pale. lolz

In the West, it's the opposite. White people tan to bring out the melanin in their skin... pale skin is unattractive and pasty people are more or less marginalized to some degree by society.

So, shove your "racism is actually just colorism" hypothesis straight where the sun don't shine because it is WRONG and completely misguided.

More of the usual b.s deflection (imo). File under: responsibilities of black celebrities and athletes...

It's nice to know that you are willfully ignorant about the mechanics of racism and don't mind admitting it.

Thankfully we have you and others to "enlighten" us on a regular basis. Where would we be without you?

Assessments as to my validity aside (as if I could GIVE a flying), I am amused that people who are given to twisting and spinning the facts call my rebuttals "dangerous". "Dangerous" perhaps in that I don't let bullshit "stick".

And I happen to think Popyuu, in his own style, "reads" some here quite well. That he is more direct in doing so than I am should be considered a compliment.

Take for instance the link re. "colorism" and the direct reference to the generally long defunct discriminatory practice of "brown paper bag test".

To what purpose was that introduced? Were we supposed to go, "Oh, discrimination exists within various races and ethnicities, so NEVERMIND about racism and the notion of white privilege?"

Hell no.

I've already stated on past occasions that ONE atrocity does not excuse the other. Nor should the existence of bigotries within races be considered an excuse for ANY at all.

As I've said, it's just typical of the usual attempts at deflecting and dismissing legitimate concerns by shifting the focus back upon black folk and minorities.

Discrimination based on skin color - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just in case you and klingsor missed this. There is a history. . . .

I see... so you're truly ignorant. You LITERALLY don't know what the fuck I'm talking about. Which is fine... I promise... I will place you in a different group than where I initially thought you belonged. My apologies for that.

If I've learned nothing else from these interactions, it's that there are 2 completely different kinds of people here. There are "those people" who know wtf is going on. "Those people" who KNOW exactly wtf I'm talking about and just LIKE IT. "They" LIKE the way "they" live. "They" like the way the system is structured. It places "them" in an unbelievably comfortable place. And to retain that comfort, "they", aka "those people", will do ANYTHING. Whether it be to put a bullet through a person, or feign COMPLETE and TOTAL ignorance to all things race related. All of it. To the untrained eye, or ear in the case of dog whistle politics, "these people" are completely color blind; and racism is an ugly thing that no human being should ever speak of.

...you are not one of "these people". You (and Domisoldo) are, what I like to call, a product of said system. You TRULY believe the shit you type. You REEEEALLY believe this stuff. It's not a joke or trick to you. But it's ok... smarter people than you, though history, have been fooled by propaganda, it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Same here. But it's something I rarely think about because it's a given that I'm NOT going to be discriminated against in 99% of situations. Me and my family have no history of been profiled by the police (in a negative way), or refused service, or any of the other dozens of ways that minorities experience discrimination. The most privileged part of being white is not even having to think about it.

It's like being hung, you never need to worry if your dick is too small.

Comical truth..... but truth no less...

I'm white, and have always felt privileged because of it. Other white people of different backgrounds and experiences may not have quite that sense, but it's still hard to deny the phenomenon exists.

You haven't been paying attention to the discussions....

White privilege isn't something you can hold in your hand.

It's not something that can fall from a tree.

It's not even something that can really make you feel priviliged. A feeling of privilege comes only from recognizing that it exists. If one doesn't recognize that it exists, they will never "feel" or "see" it.

White privilege is the main reason why Black folk have 1/6th the wealth of whites.

White privilege unlocks the keys to society and allows easier access into the elite power structures.

^^^^^^^^ ALL TRUTH ^^^^^^^

Ostensibly, white privilege is an invisible hand that gives access.
^^^ Just enough wording for "them" to pretend it's all a fairy tale^^^

It's the Forum's Curse.
If common ground were ever found, the merry go 'round would collapse ... and everyone would realize they're still living in ma's basement.

Ma & Pa's basement is reserved for storage...and I legally own the property...which I naturally purchased with a Privilege Check©...so technically they live above my basement.

You thought that quote was rbkwp's or whatever his handle is. But you see, he's never figured out, in seven years of membership, how to use the quote function. So he just types in text from other people's posts without any acknowledgement that the words aren't his.

Here's the original:

Quote Phunkshun Phukhed agin.

From Klingsor:
They overstay their welcome like a bad SNL skit.

Yes, but where's the Lorne Michaels who will fire the malefactors?

Which is why it delights you to know you will never understand the 99 percent.
