Living with two staunch Republicans, I can tell you it's not that they've forgotten, it's that they were brainwashed into thinking that everything Clinton accomplished with the economy was just due to Reagan's and Bush's policies taking effect, and everything bad that happened in Bush Jr's presidency is due to Clinton's. Now that they economy is stabilizing and starting to swing back up, they think it's due to Bush's policies taking effect. You can point out the direct correlation of numbers with Dubya starting two wars right when he cut taxes and they blame Clinton's policies on the deficit. Kinda sad that I watch two smart people act so stupid.
