Republican Resurgence? I think not... more like additional evidence to suggest that some Conservatives are content to eat their own. Keep it up with these these ridiculous dick wagging contests trying to push out those who aren't "Conservative enough". Even if by some miracle you prevent Obama from getting a second term, the White House won't fall into your hands either.

Thanks for the comment babe ---- was gonna say something similar --- will the REAL true blue Republicans please stand up so we can see the "re-surgence" especially NATIONALLY.

Local elections ALWAYS revolve around LOCAL issues........now Senate seats may be another matter!! In our overwhelmingly Republican registered county we've had a Democratic congressman, Dennis Moore for 4 terms now (maybe 6, I can't remember). Why??? Because the REAL gut punching race is always in the primaries among the Republicans. The moderate Republicans nominate THEIR candidate and then the ultra conservatives nominate THEIRS. If THAT battle is won by the ultra conservative, thousands of moderate Republicans vote for Dennis Moore and he wins by a pretty wide margin. When the more moderate Republican wins the primary battle a lot of conservatives very begrudgingly support them or they just stay home and Dennis Moore wins a "squeaker." If/when this scenario is played out in dozens of other national congressional districts............the general election is always a "close" one. The Republican party is still trying very hard to identify just "who" and "what" they are (instead of just being the part of "no") I totally don't see Mr. Joe average believing the the Republicans are "their" voice -- especially after the Bush 8 year disaster. New issues are going to define what "mood" the voters are in. But as long as the Republican party continues to crawl into bed with the ultra conservative religious right -- it will be the "independents" who really decide who runs the government. All the Republicans need is a little bit of that cocky arrogance to shine through and they'll be out on their asses in 2 flicks of a cow's tail!!

And Sarah Palin????? Wait until she's NOT protected by the media with her robotic speeches and shows her "true" ultra conservative self. That cutesy down home persona is going to get crucified in the nuts and bolts of political realities (duh -- isn't that why she decided to "quit" before her first term was up?????) Gosh it's gonna be an interesting next 2 years to see just WHO emerges as the "real" voice of the Resurgent Republican party!!!!!!!!!!!!:biggrin1::eek:

Oh dear... They lost a seat they've held since the Civil War?? Only 2 Republicans in the 29 seat New York delegation? Nice to some sense prevail and the voters reject the nonsense from the far right of Limbaugh and Palin. AGAIN.

Man, I haven't felt this hopeful for the future of America since the inauguration of Barack Obama nine months ago...

As Young Republicans for Goldwater, we liked to laugh at LBJ, but not because he was stupid. We simply found his accent to be less than . . . well, good ol' GOP patrician Eeengleeesh. There was no question LBJ was a brilliant politician and someone who had a firm grasp on all of the testicles in the House and Senate. Now that I am neither a Republican or Democrat it is EASY to make fun of Dub Ya, AKA Bush The Younger, because it's obvious the man hasn't a fucking clue and faulty DNA that was easily damaged by an early drinking career.

I meet old farts (those 10 to 20 years older than me) and discover that they are the mostly the conservatives who still vote every time they are given a chance. They are also the last great group of homophobes and evangelical christians. They will vote for anything that speaks to their soon to come death bed confessional. And, they are quickly dying off. But they are not dying off as quickly as their own political base would like: Republican'ts haven't much new to add to a public health system.

As long as either party can come up with a well-spoken, intelligent, educated, and articulate (well-spoken and articulate are two different qualities BTW) contender for the POTUS, that party with the better, thoughtful speaker will win.

As for those who are living the delusion that the USA is the greatest power on Earth and must remain so to keep democracy alive and well . . . well, those jingoists don't reflect the better aspects of any party -- especially the Republican'ts. If you check back about 30 years ago Afganistan actually had a grass roots political process that worked exactly like a democracy. It just wasn't the democracy that the USA thinks a democracy should be. As long as Obama figures out how to pull out of Afganistan and Iraq ASAP and the economy continues it's modest increase, he'll be OK. He needs to figure out how to get 'Mericuhns back to work, too. But the Republican'ts have absolutely no plan except to "let the free market work!" It's quite obvious that a Republican't free market is quite different than one with regulations imposed upon it -- as Democrats are prone to do.

So, the two governor races are really nothing to worry about. And Sarah Palindrone, et al, are just shiny objects thrown out before the public to distract those easily swayed by shiny objects. And sadly those numbers are increasing. I only hope the majority of the USA's population hasn't been dumbed down to such a degree that it's a shiny object only nation. That's the real breaking point when 'Mericuhns are no longer able to think on their own. The country is already so far down the ladder with regard to history, math, science, and reading that it's amazing the Republican'ts haven't permanently crippled what was once a "thinking" society.

Oh, and remember: "Vote for Pedro."

Palin coddled by the media? What are you on? I wan't some. They went after her and even made shit up to try to crucify her. I wish they were half as harsh as they were with her as they were with Obama. Not a huge fan of her but she has my respect for the shit she put up with.

she crucified herself, the media just gave her the camera time to do it on-air.

she was and never would have been qualified to be second in command, and she quit a job she was completely unqualified for, in order to cash in. SP has never given a rat's ass about anybody or anything other than promoting herself, and her toxic beauty pageant runner up ambitions. Even McCain couldn't control the monster he created. I hope the RNC runs SP and michelle bachman in '12.

Palin showed her stupidity and absolute lack of knowledge above a 5th grade level during every interview in which she took part (except for the softball ones from FoxNews ... "Sarah, why are you so charming and loveable?")

I too am hoping that she announces her bid for Pres '12 soon... it will be entirely too enjoyable to watch her again stumble through those basic questions -- "Sarah, what newspapers do you read on a regular basis?" Sarah: "Ahhh, All of them". Too funny.

Sarah Palin was more qualified to be Vice President than Obama was to be President. Obama never ran anything. Obama’s claim to fame was being a community organizer for a little more than 2 years. If that counts for anything then anybody can make the same claim if they worked in a low paying job for the community as a recent college graduate. Obama worked at a law firm for a few years with nothing to note. Sarah Palin was a Mayor and Governor. Sarah Palin took down corruption in her state and balanced a budget that was bigger than Bill Clinton’s budget in Arkansas. Sarah Palin has executive experience and proven success at it. Obama had nothing of the sort.

Palin is a quitter. And her almost son-in-law is about to pose nude. Trailer Trash. Truckstop Tragedy.
