    According to this:

Olivia Newton-John tops list of sexiest songs - Music- msnbc.com

it's "Physical" by Olivia Newton-John. To me, that song is about as sexy as a tube of KY jelly.

I say the best song ever about sexual desire is the Beach Boys' "Wouldn't It Be Nice" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L--cqAI3IUI).

The best song ever about sexual frustration is the Smiths' "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=INgXzChwipY).

The best song ever about the dark side of sexuality is the Velvet Underground's "Venus in Furs" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AwzaifhSw2c).

And the best song ever that just embodies the whole concept of "sex" is Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8TBmeK9Abg).

    What do you all think?

I don't know if it's the sexiest, but INXS "I Need You Tonight" is a pretty damn sexy song.

thank you...i am a classic rock fan first, but soul is awesome, as is the blues, and i even enjoy pop as long as it is the good type of pop, not the manufactured type.

for example, early Michael Jackson and early Madonna Pop is fantastic, later more commercial pop like we have nowadays and the late 80s is awful.

anyway, i could have made a bigger list, but i did not want get too apoplectic over the stupidity of the inclusions on that billboard list while truly great stuff was excluded.

i am still utterly baffled by some of the original choices i highlighted...

as for the Cyndi Lauper bit, i did not really like it because of my strong aversion to her and her voice and her type of music from that era...she annoyed the fuck out of me ...i much prefer the Prince version...now there was another talented pop star.

I don’t know what it was about the 1970s, but, man, people were cooking in the old days! Maybe cos they got more ‘album–oriented,’ like with Marvin Gaye’s groundbreaking Let’s Get It On (1973)…

But also with at least three albums from that era by Barry White, as follows:

    Stone Gon’ (1973)
Never Gonna Give You Up (1974)
Just Another Way to Say I Love You (1975)

On a jazz tip, Gato Barbieri's soundtrack album from Bernardo Bertolucci's Last Tango in Paris [Ultimo tango a Parigi (1972)] works for me.

But before you start to think I'm stuck in the seventies, I also think, for sheer sexiness, individual songs from the fifties and sixties — especially from New Orleans — just can’t be beat. They include, among many others by artists like Ernie K–Doe and Fats Domino, Jessie Hill’s classic Ooh Poo Pah Doo and the Meters’ Sophisticated Sissy.

Stevie Wonder’s one–time drummer Hamilton Bohannon also set up a similarly rocking groove with his song Bohannon’s Beat, again from the early ‘sexy seventies.’ I have it on the CD The Very Best of Bohannon: Funky, Wicked & Smooth (1985).

Not that certain, other bands from the eighties and nineties — like The Fall — couldn't/didn't work a groove, but ultimately, it's all about the beat, and for my taste the last ten years have been a wasteland — and maybe that’s one reason why the Billboard list was so lame.

Music’s changed a lot in the last forty years, but some things — like fucking — are timeless! Now, if only I can last as long as all my old CDs in the carousel…
