Although not a fan of the 'leaving' threads, I wanted to share a few last thoughts about the people here (and not really myself).

I have enjoyed my time here on the board, but it really is just time to move on. The most positive part was getting to interact with a few people on something that cannot normally be shared with real life friends, and for that I am appreciative.

I am also very appreciative of many of the intelligent and personable individuals on the board -- Nick8, Patchos, Willtom, Industrialsize, Midlifebear, M. Rouge, Jason Els, and a few others that I should not omit. Also, a salute to those firebrands, fighting the good fight - VB, Tripod, Phil - the world needs more individuals with their compassion and spirit.

I'll leave my account up for a while. People who have my email or yahoo can find me there.

Best regards,

Brett

Hey Sparky. Nice knowing you. Your level headedness, sense of humour, and general all around sexiness will be missed. I hope you return from time to time even if it's just to poke T. (No.. I don't mean that way!)

Good luck man.

I think I sort of have a crush on you. And since I've seen no pics, IT MUST BE YOUR MIND (you've got a great, lucid mind).

I've been busy with other things, and to my surprise, when I finally looked at the Dow this morning on CNN Money... it is at frigging 9,301.53.

When did that happen? The last I checked, not too long ago, it was in the low-to-mid 8,000s.

Also: The result of the Bush years. Obama entered office on January 20th, and a month and a half later, the Dow reached its nadir (March 9, 2009 Dow closes at 6,547.05)....

So the economy is well on its way to recovery. Typically, in depressions, the markets and financial institutions recover first, then 6 to 9 months after market recovery, the unemployment numbers start recovery (that's just the system we've built up... the banks and corporations must recover first). I can only imagine the current situation if McCain and Palin were running the country.

Anyway. You're going -- and now we won't get the supreme pleasure of watching the cons spin spin spin as the economy fully recovers. And we won't get the pleasure of watching the GOP crack up together (it already has... it's just being held together by Crazy Glue).

Please watch (starts 18 seconds in) Rush Limbaugh compare the Democratic Party of today to... yes, the Nazis. He has this whole extravagant theory. What a jerkoff. What a dick.

Sparkster,

This is seriously very bad news. We need more people of your caliber, not fewer. I am very unhappy.

The good news is I know where to find you (although we have yet to have that beer) and I can be extremely persuasive. Plus, I think you'll eventually get bored with your self-imposed exile and your fingers will get itchy.

The clubhouse will still be here and your membership will still be in good standing.

Love, Nick

But we need you for Project Trinity!

Your level headedness, sense of humour, and general all around sexiness will be missed.

Sparky, this is sad news. There is nothing wrong with spending more time in your real life then in your cyber one, though it's probably a good thing.

Just remember that if you ever feel like coming back... then by all means come back Sparky.

There's nothin' wrong with movin' on, but just because you are saying "goodbye" doesn't mean that you can't say "hello again" at a future date.

You're gonna be greatly missed man... :frown1:

LOL

and exactly one year ago the DOW was at 11,734 and 16 months ago it was @12,820

"So the economy is well on its way to recovery."

no, it isn't. the only fact is that the recession is near the bottom.

and just FYI, the DOW was at 10,569 roughly, when Bush took office...and it reached a high of 14,093 two years ago.

we are nowhere near those levels...so please, since you only look at the DOW once every couple of months, don't pontificate about the market and the economy.

I passed around your economic insights in this post to everyone on our trading desk, and everyone had a good laugh.

so why don't you just leave it at saying goodbye to a good poster?

Farewell Sparky! I'm very sorry to see you leave LPSG. You've been a great contributor and an all-around nice guy. I wish you the best of happiness in your future. Think of us fondly sometime and be aware that you're always welcome back.:smile:
