The Swell Season - you have to listen!

Has anyone else been listening / heard of The Swell Season? I must have been living under a rock this last year but they are awesome! The duo is made up of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova from the movie "Once" (they won the Oscar last month for Best Orig. Song).

Just wondering if anyone else is as jazzed about them as me. :biggrin1:

Are you going to one of their 3 concerts in Chicago (in June I think) - they're sold out though.

OMG!!! I don't believe it!!!

A friend only just went and mentioned The Swell Season to me today!!!
She's seeing them next month!

I bought 'Once' this week and just this moment finished watching it again!
It pushed me into purchasing the soundtrack and my first The Frames CD off iTunes and I just love them!

Am listening to The Swell Seasons myspace page as I am writing.

So yes, I am a new convert too... absolutely delicious music! :biggrin1:

At least you live in the vicinity. I think they are in Ireland now - maybe you can go and see them??? I'm all the way out in Wisconsin. I'm seeing them on May 8th and can't wait. I've watched every video I can get my hands onto on You Tube. I just can't get enough.

Makes me want to visit Ireland this summer for some reason. I have enough miles for a ticket, but no $$$$$$$ in this sucky economy. :frown1:

There are no UK dates on their myspace page at all.
But if they do play any I can assure you I'd be there!!!
And ever so easy to get across to Ireland from here too... so I'm ready to travel! :wink:

I just posted a comment on their page to see if they have any upcoming dates in the UK. Surely they will, but i looks like they're going to be busy over here.

I'd just love to visit Ireland and Scotland, no connection to their music really. I guess it just got me in the mood again. I've been to England 3 times but nowhere else in the UK.
