What amazing skill set does a lumbering bureaucracy bring to that particular table?

What security risk does it represent? They still own the skies, technically.

Are airports an awesome source of revenue? Not really, and in the cut throat, low cost domestic airline scene in the US I'd be surprised if anyone can turn a profit out of one.

Exactly. I tried to tell one of them (a veteran, or so he claimed) about a year ago (in this forum) that it was HIS Republicans who scuttled Veterans jobs and benefits bills put forth by DEMOCRATS... showed him PROOF of it... and he STILL wouldn't believe it.

Well, maybe by owning an airport it insures reasonable control over citizens right to afford to use it, and perhaps keep it safe at any cost, something the private sector will not do. I can't believe the question even is being asked. Taxpayers built it, paid for it and not Trump wants to make it a profit center for his Russian friends. Wow.

Like how they want to privatize schools, only in that case they want to pay them taxpayer funded vouchers... schools that can pick and choose who they want while leaving the rest of the NOT so preferred/chosen to attend underfunded pubic schools.

It's not a loss, it is a service. You want to pay down debt? Repeal the Trump tax bill. It is not about cheap tickets home for Thanksgiving - it is more about creating a secure area that serves a community by making it more accessible for business and political travel among other reasons.
