Sometimes playing the "short" game is appropriate. In this case, I agree 100%--it's the "long" game that everyone needs to stay focused on. And played to WIN!
That and the fact that all you do is end up with Pence
Pence who I insist will be JUST POPULAR ENOUGH with those white soccer mom Evangelicals s in the burbs of Philly and Detroit and Milwaukee who at the very least did not come out and vote R in 2018, supposedly over their disgust with Trump who will see Pence as "one of their own' and will come out in droves or at least enough for him to squeak out a victory.
I kniow what I am talking about
I have sister who is an MD, a Psychiatrist in the burbs of Milwaukee, she has been a reliable R for years who in 2016 said "I voted against Clinton" and I remember telling her early in 2017 that I would not be at all surprised that when Trump found out being President was NOTHING like the way he talked about it during the campaign that he would just say "fuck it" and quit. I said he would pull a Rudy and get that comical DR. of his from NYC to say he had ---- and he would resign and then we would end up with Pence. to which she replied she would be fine with that,
Will she come up with some excuse/rationale and vote for Trump again ??
I do not know
I now for sure she would vote for Pence
I know for sure that she is NOT the ONLY such person.
