The trump presidency

President Trump inherited more than $400 million from his father and invested in one failed business after another. Trump must be the only person in the world who can’t make money off steaks, vodka or gambling. He would have been better off putting his money into an index fund.

Now he has brought his reverse Midas touch to politics. Despite a booming economy, he is the only president in modern history never to achieve at least a 50 percent job approval rating. He inherited a Republican-controlled Congress and in his first midterm election lost control of the House. It’s not just that Trump is personally unpopular. So are his views. On issue after issue, the country rejects the populist snake oil that he is peddling.

A new poll shows voters aren’t buying what Trump is selling

Trump is a disaster and has been his entire life. He has ruined so many lives and could care less. He is a classic narcissistic clown who is most sane people's worst nightmare then again if you're an evangelical christian God has sent an imperfect vessel to do his work (feel free to vomit now). The dementia diagnosis is just around the corner to boot.

My time expired for editing that last reply, so just include this, please:

...And the sooner the better.

The Democrats made another BIG mistake by not starting impeachment proceedings IMMEDIATELY after Mueller's Report came out. They decided to take the politically "safe" way out. They'll burn in hell for that... along side almost the entire hole Republican Party.

It's just a shame that they're going to take this entire country with them - but like you said - ydc.

There are not enough votes to convict. That is the stone cold reality. If they impeach, and he is acquitted then he is re-elected and Democrats suffer at the polls. That's what will happen, it is what Trump wants. If we don't beat him and the GOP at the polls, it will not matter. "Better not to fight today, and live to fight another day."

Sometimes playing the "short" game is appropriate. In this case, I agree 100%--it's the "long" game that everyone needs to stay focused on. And played to WIN!

That and the fact that all you do is end up with Pence

Pence who I insist will be JUST POPULAR ENOUGH with those white soccer mom Evangelicals s in the burbs of Philly and Detroit and Milwaukee who at the very least did not come out and vote R in 2018, supposedly over their disgust with Trump who will see Pence as "one of their own' and will come out in droves or at least enough for him to squeak out a victory.

I kniow what I am talking about

I have sister who is an MD, a Psychiatrist in the burbs of Milwaukee, she has been a reliable R for years who in 2016 said "I voted against Clinton" and I remember telling her early in 2017 that I would not be at all surprised that when Trump found out being President was NOTHING like the way he talked about it during the campaign that he would just say "fuck it" and quit. I said he would pull a Rudy and get that comical DR. of his from NYC to say he had ---- and he would resign and then we would end up with Pence. to which she replied she would be fine with that,

Will she come up with some excuse/rationale and vote for Trump again ??

I do not know

I now for sure she would vote for Pence

I know for sure that she is NOT the ONLY such person.

WASHINGTON — The Secretary of Commerce threatened to fire top employees at the federal scientific agency responsible for weather forecasts last Friday after the agency’s Birmingham office contradicted President Trump’s claim that Hurricane Dorian might hit Alabama, according to three people familiar with the discussion.

That threat led to an unusual, unsigned statement later that Friday by the agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, disavowing the National Weather Service’s position that Alabama was not at risk. The reversal caused widespread anger within the agency and drew accusations from the scientific community that the National Weather Service, which is part of NOAA, had been bent to political purposes.

Unless you back the buffoon you're fired! When the Executive Branch of the federal government believes that it is more important not to embarrass the President than it is to correct the President for disseminating serious misinformation in the face of a potentially catastrophic national emergency, you know we've reached rock bottom. Then again each day is a new rock bottom. If Trump came out and said he could levitate, I expect NASA would be pressured to release a statement saying they aren’t so sure about gravity after all or heads will roll!

The Trump Clown Show Caravan Weekend Roundup - the latest SHENANIGANS of the con-man criminal-in-chief:

Trump Claims Those Fleeing Bahamas Could Be 'Very Bad People' | HuffPost

"Donald Trump on Monday urged caution in admitting people into the U.S. from the Bahamas, claiming ― with no apparent basis in fact ― that “very bad people” could be hidden among the hordes of Hurricane Dorian survivors attempting to flee the devastated archipelago."

Trumpian malevolence continues, as Bahamian refugees are harassed, and conflict is sought elsewhere

. . .

Jennifer Rubin - Trump "spitting on the graves of 2,996 people killed on 9/11..."

"her entire quote in the Washington Post is….

”Trump can hug the flag all he likes, but it doesn’t make up for spitting on the graves of 2,996 people killed on 9/11 and nearly 2,400 American men and women who died in the war in Afghanistan.”

After upbraiding Senators Ben Sasse (R-Neb.), Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) or Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) for not speaking out against the *Resident for his reprehensible plan to invite Taliban leaders to Camp David, where FDR hosted Churchill, she acknowledged Liz Cheney at least spoke against it….

Camp David is where America'™s leaders met to plan our response after al Qaeda, supported by the Taliban, killed 3000 Americans on 9/11.

No member of the Taliban should set foot there. Ever."

Pence and Bolton thought meeting Taliban over 9/11 anniversary was idiotic; Trump overruled them

. . .

meanwhile,

Trump Encourages New 'Activist' AT&T Investor to Stop CNN

"Donald Trump lauded ... an activist hedge fund [that] has a multi-billion dollar stake in AT&T — ... calling for them to “put a stop to all of the Fake News” presented by CNN and its anchors.

In a pair of — at best, ethically questionable — tweets Monday morning, [individual 1] raged against CNN, following news of Elliott Management disclosing a $3.2 billion stake in communications giant AT&T, which owns CNN.

“Great news that an activist investor is now involved with AT&T,” Trump wrote. “As the owner of VERY LOW RATINGS @CNN, perhaps they will now put a stop to all of the Fake News emanating from its non-credible “anchors.”"

Of course pathological liar Trump WOULD claim he has Nothing to Do With All These Government Officials Staying at HIs Resorts (Mother Jones ).
Nevertheless:

Congress Wants to Know If the Air Force Is Propping up Trump’s Golf Course – Mother Jones

"The House Oversight Committee is investigating whether the U.S. military is being used to steer taxpayer money to .. Donald Trump’s Scottish golf course, according to a new report from Politico."

Air Force crews have lodged at Trump’s Scottish resort at least 4 times - POLITICO

Hell, this GRIFTER has been profiting from the office since setting foot there, and even BEFORE. Now someone wants to investigate???

Dems see Trump’s alleged self-dealing as new path to impeachment - POLITICO

"new path..." right. How many fkng "paths" do they ALREADY have?? I've lost count.

meanwhile...

One Thing drumpf Won't Tweet About this Weekend - The Puerto Rican Paratrooper Killed in Afganistan.

Exactly. Moscow Mitch has made it very clear that his Senate will not vote to convict (don't you just love how all those "rule of law" types now look the other way when a verdict is handed down before the trial?) so an impeachment proceeding is ultimately a show. Defeat Trump and his cronies at the ballot box. That would send a clear message that no one accepts their bull (plus we'll have the added fun of seeing him face state charges).

I would love to think indeed he has “crossed a line” but the reality is when he boasted you should just “grab em by the pussy” and he got elected anyway then there is really no line at all to cross that’s a line to far.

Trump "crossed a line"

"To say this out loud sounds ludicrous," Anderson Cooper admitted on Monday's "AC360," but it's true: "We have federal employees getting reprimanded for accurately disclosing scientific truths."

In Trump's war on truth Alabama is the newest front - CNN
