First let me say...I and at least one other cool member of this fine board REALLY like this group called Doug and The Slugs. They were a group that got a lot of regional radio play in central Canada (and with a decent AM radio:smile: the upper Midwest in the US) -- Finger and toe-tappin' kinda DO-WHOP music that you could sing along with and was really cool...UNTIL
I found one of their old videos on YouTUBE!
YouTube - Doug & the Slugs - Who Knows How to Make Love Stay
Now you have to remember - they did the song in 1982 but probably didn't do the video until at least a year or more later...SO CUT THEM SOME SLACK but this is so cheezy, so BAD - I can't think of another '80's video that's WORSE. Now remember - the early '80's had really low production values...but this one MIGHT set the standard! (mostly because it incorporated the Beverly Hillbillies, Gilligans Island, took a right turn back to Groucho Marx then ended up back in Star Trek- ALL OF WHICH APPARENTLY had absolutely NOTHING to do with the actual lyrics of the song.) ANYWAY - enjoy!
BTW - This is NOT a knock on "Doug and the Slugs" - actually one of my favorite old LP bands - (CHECK MY GALLERY for proof!) and I was sorry to learn by "wikipedia":frown1: Doug Bennett died in '04 - rest in piece my friend! I'll always remember you at the Agrodome in '01!!! PEACE!!
