That's because you probably have the wrong video card inside the computer with the widescreen monitor. Mine is the same way, I got a new widescreen monitor for my PC and pictures are skewed on a lot of sites because my video card doesn't fit the resolution capabilities of my monitor. It was fine with a normal screen but many time widescreens require a new video card to support the proper resolution.

Either that or you just need to change your resolution setting, either or
