I'm not sure what a 'real gay man' or 100% is supposed to be? There are men who are gay who marry women becuase they want everybody to think they are straight. I was LITERALLY referring to sexual intercourse in my original post that you replied to. "Being gay isn't just about sex." As in SEX. Not a PERSON'S sex.


That being said. When the term was originally coined, we had no concept of the difference between sex and gender. That's something that should be taken into account. I have no issue with the term "homosexual" being used to include trans people. Because as previously stated, trans men are men. And a gay man dating a gay, trans, man is still a gay man.

I entirely agree with you for your second paragraph. It is true that bi men (and even women) have an uphill battle in terms of optics and stereotypes. For me, the way to go for bi men is this:

1) I think there are two separate camps of performers. The bisexuals in denials and the authentically g4p (rarity). Be open and honest from the start. None of this constantly making an announcement to your gay audience on how straight you are is a turn-off especially with the frequency and enthusiasm some of those guys have in their scenes. I think there are truly g4p men, I think it's a rare case, but they don't stick around for many scenes, and it is really obvious that they are uncomfortable in their scenes. On to that point, there is a growing trend of g4p men lying that they are bisexual for pure brownie points and to avoid backlash when they eventually show that they do more heterosexual porn for their fan site or show more enthusiasm for their female partner in heterosexual/bisexual scenes. Not to mention if in their private life they are socially, politically and/or religiously hostile to gay men.

True g4p guys shouldn't be in the picture anymore. Excluding trans man and trans women, there are different social and biological consequences for dating a male or female. It’s not like males and females are interchangeable.
Homosexuals can’t offer children, the middle class dream, or even heterosexual privilege.

As to your first part about stating your identity: there is practically no psychological/sociological research on modern bisexuals. Until the 1990s, in research journals bisexuality was labeled "secondary homosexuality." We've all heard of the infamous Kinsey research, but there is really a lack of information investigating the bisexual experience and sharing information. So, bi people are still figuring out how to label themselves. Most bi people cycle in attraction from one gender to another. A cycle can last for years and maybe flip when they exit a relationship, or it can be more rapid and just based on your brain chemistry. I filled out this profile as 60% straight, but that is not how I feel at the moment, and also what does that even mean?

After coming out and dating some men, I discovered that I could have a relationship with a man and it is not just sexual. I think some people may be that way though and I don't judge them, but I can see how gay men would get hurt by them along the way. Another angle might be that some gay men don't like the existence of bi/bicurious straights because the fetish of fucking a "straight" dude pulls potential partners away from monogamy.
