I agree it used to be synonymous to homosexual but it seems at least to me that the term gay is beginning to take on more of a “sexually open“ definition similar to queer (a term I still don’t like).

Gay went from meaning homosexual to now being an umbrella term used by everyone, from bisexuals, to pansexuals, queer ppl, demi, etc, etc, regardless of if they are, indeed, homosexual or not.

Gold star gay in this thread, and often generally, refers to a gay man who has had no sexual contact with a woman and sometimes would refer to himself as 100% gay.

I remember getting very wrapped up in this thread for a week or two debating many things like this, often associated with things like the Kinsey scale - no I am not looking for a debate on that one, I did my time lol

If you naturally got aroused and had sex with a vagina, you’re not gay. That’s heterosexual sex. You can call yourself gay but you aren’t. Technically, you’re bisexual with a preference for men. All this madness need to stop because it’s harmful to actual homosexuals when your sexual identity doesn’t match your sexual practices.

I can appreciate the “haha” reactions. Believe me I understand your point of view having shared it.

It’s just that having met a few trans men and after the experience I had with one, I can honestly say I still feel I’m gay. Perhaps not 100% homosexual but I feel really no different than before.

I don’t now lust after vagina and I certainly have no interest in sexually pursuing women. Still me.
