OK TexanStar. Now you're hitting the sweet spot of my favorite elementary school TV shows.

Did I hear someone summon Captain Belly Buster??!!

The Greatest American Hero was an early eighties series blessed with an original script, great casting and acting. I particularly enjoyed Robert Culp as a long suffering government agent who always wore an exasperated expression as if he were the poor bastard singled-out by the Great Kahuna in the heavens above to come-up short in his chosen profession's roll-of-the-dice. While other agents were put in-charge of guarding POTUS he was stuck minding a clown in red pajamas.

For all you crotch bulge fans William Katt does seem to push the envelope for family television in many episodes. I don't know if his doo-hickey got any inspiration from a close proximity to the very attractive Connie Sellecca but if you look closely in some scenes it does look as if there is a Kielbasa sausage stuffed into his super hero uniform.

Bosom Buddies: Another long-forgotten TV series from the eighties starring Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari. The premise was ludicrous, a couple of twentysomething heterosexual men cross-dress as women in order to rent an apartment in an all-female residence building to save money at the start of their careers. It was also a series with masterful situation comedy and acting. In this memorable episode titled Macho Man the diminutive Peter Scolari attempts to reinvent himself in order to be viewed more favorably by the opposite sex. Forget the set-up and just cut to 15:00.

"That's my woman! You talk to her, you talk to me!"

The Manhattan Corral no-doubt was a mythical club at the tail-end of the John Travolta/ Urban Cowboy era. But I would hazard to guess one could scour every borough in greater New York and never come across a group of more stereotypical looking Texas cowboys. Six-foot-seven actor Ben Bates is the huge cowpoke who takes offense to Peter Scolari's advances on his tall blonde hottie. Bates was also a stunt double and best friend of actor James Arness who starred in the TV western series Gunsmoke.

A few comments about the "Bosom Buddies" episode - surprised they used a different song in the opening credits (the original run used Billy Joel performing "My Life"; it was quite formulaic in script and tone but it still worked especially due to the acting of Hanks and Scolari as well as the rest of the cast; and it's largely overlooked what a nice, tight body Scolari had, especially in the credits.
