I was just listening to White Nights by Psychic TV (by the way, I think that song is one of the best Christmas songs ever written - if not the best). Anyway, towards the end of the song Genisis P. Orridge sings: "Santa Claus is checking his list, going over it twice, seeing who is naughty and who is nice" over a sample of a machine gun being fired, suggesting that Santa will shoot the kids who aren't nice.
I remember when I was a young teenager, I thought that was the coolest thing ever. I don't think I totally realized until today how lame it really is.
Let me hear some of the things you used to think were cool, but have come to realize in reality are kinda lame. It doesn't have to be anything you hate by now, or even have a dislike for. It can just as well be something you still like very much, even though you acknowledge its lameness.
