(Just kidding. I crochet because it helps me deal with ADHD and puts my OCD to good use. I have so many doilies... And I made a rainbow yarmulke (that's a Jewish prayer hat/skullcap) for my cat because he seems to worship my dad and brother.)

I do to!! Well, mostly I knit to make hats and mittens and scarves and other useful items. But the avoidance of awkward small talk with the unattractive bible-thumper sitting next to me on a flight is a major bonus!
