I have said for a long time that Obama will win in November because the American people trust the media who is in the tank for Obama and most of us live off soundbites. The hard questions are almost never asked Obama, so people rarely understand what he has really done and what he stands for.

You're right. There has been no criticism of Obama whatsoever. Every one of his policies has been accepted with universal acclaim and undying gratitude. No one has questioned any of his proposals, contested any of his appointments, or challenged any of his legislation.

The whole Obama presidency has just been one long free pass. We should all have it so easy.

Huh? Could you provide some examples because this sounds like an elongated conspiracy theory without actual examples to prove this?

Look, rather than finding a true conservative, vested in the idea of smaller, more efficient government, that champions small business and governs from the stand point of bringing unity to a divided society... they offer consolation-door prize Romney as the contender to the President.

We thought no two people could tear one another apart more efficiently than Obama and Clinton did in the 08 primaries? We were wrong. The GOP did such a fantastic job making their own candidates look like idiots, by the time the bloodbath to the finish was over, the last guy standing just seems like the clown who dodged the most pies to the face. That isn't to say he isn't absolutely dripping with whipped cream- he is- it's just that it's slightly less whipped cream than all the others. That's hardly Presidential material- that's hardly student council Presidential material.

Obama's victory in November will have little if not nothing to do with the media being "in the tank" for anyone and everything to do with the fact that the Republican party is being held hostage by the extreme right, and as such, could offer up not even one contender with whom the President would have any trouble absolutely trouncing with the crowd that watches anything except Fox News.

Amazing, patriotic, steadfast, zealous, intellectually imaginative conservatives are out there. Unfortunately, thanks to the sheer lunacy of the extreme right, those voices are seldom heard from and are completely absent in the 2012 Presidential election cycle.

Thanks...?

john 2181, you are delusional. but then, you are probably a Repugnantcan. that would explain it.
If Obama wins in November, look for: 1. more action on immigration law changes. 2. part 2 of Obamacare introduced. 3. new supreme court justices (at least 2). 4. more wall street CEO's and big bank CEO's prosecuted for their crimes.
a lovely agenda, indeed.

Romney is wack job. You thought Bush was a freak you ain't seen nothin yet.

Not being an american myself I could miss out something big, but from what I'm seeing it's just like if the Republicans have already acknowledged since a few month that they would lose this election anyway, so they are not even trying and it ends up with a ridiculous candidate like Romney.

I guess when you lose an election your political career is pretty much fucked up. Palin, Santorum and other big Republicans, it looks like they are keeping their chance for the 2016 election where Obama won't be in the race...

(BTW, when was the last time an american president wasn't re-elected on a second term?)

To answer K. Dst's question that would be George H.W Bush...he lost his reelection to Bill Clinton.

I still think for the most part people here in the south are so deeply convinced that the black man is ruining the country that they will vote against their most fervent beliefs. They believe the white man will fix it all for them and the republican party and Mitt Romney are more than happy to feed off of ideal.

They refuse to see past the lies and deceit and see what a horrible horrible choice Mitt Romney is.

And there it is. I am glad someone else can acknowledge this fallacy of so many white Southerners. It's funny how so many will spite themselves economically because of their racial hubris towards non-white individuals doing anything at a leadership level.

Mitt Romney is an utter moron to say the least, and a buffoon at being a public administrator. He needs to just go home and stop trying to "honor" his family name after his father lost to Nixon during the GOP primaries back in the 1970s.

and now comes the icing on the cake! Mitt Romney himself is the reason why Obama is going to win in November. Like John McCain and the beer queen before Mitt, if there is one thing the American people simply will not tolerate ESPECIALLY in this political climate, it's a wealthy asshole with an attitude problem. McCain's wife appears at the Republican convention in a $300,000 outfit and John can't remember just exactly how many houses he has! Now there's something the average American can identify with! But you see, the really really wealthy (at least some who have an R behind their name) just don't get it. They are so out of touch with the average American's economic and social standing that they think lame excuses like, "You're just jealous of my success," legitamizes taking a firm stance against oh say releasing your tax returns. It really doesn't dawn on them that "transparency" of who you are translates more into "earning" my vote! The attitude of "I'm above all that -- I obey the letter of the law and that's enough" is NOT enough to earn my vote. I guess in "their" world -- the voter has no RIGHT to know. Really? We had 8 years (God only knows how the man won his 2nd term except through fear) all because Mr B was "someone we'd like to go out and have a beer with!" Nice thinking, but hardly a qualification for the Presidency. Public servant? Or privileged class?

Mr. Mitt --- you are shooting yourself in the foot more than you may ever imagine! The 25% loyalists who would vote for a damned goat if it were running as a Republican will not be enough to sway those with an "I" behind their names. Independents in this country, fed up in many ways with both political parties for numerous reasons, simply will not take, "I choose not to" as a valid excuse for lack of transparency. I believe their thinking will be: The devil we have could be a hell of a lot better than the devil we could have! And they will fear the potential demogoguery of one of the privileged class to wreak havoc on the middle class with their policies MORE than they will fear whatever lies and wedge issues can be devised against the current President.

6 months ago I wouldn't have dreamed that THIS would become a major issue in the 2012 Presidential race --- but the longer Mr. Romney refuses to release his tax returns on "principle" the more votes he'll lose simply through one word: Distrust! What ARE you hiding??
