Although I don't believe in a literal soul, but if it is equated with their personality and overall individuality, then a person's "soul" is far more important to me than any physical aspects like their body.
I'd say "marriage is a piece of paper", what matters is the love that is there to begin with. Kids however link you forever to someone (unless you adopt them alone or choose to become a single mother), it's something to consider carefully.
