I always wear thongs. I really like the feeling of my cock and balls supported up front, whilst it feels near-naked at the back. The strap between my cheeks strokes and teases the asshole. I prefer a narrow pouch, so my cock is held pointing up.

Why are thongs so socially unacceptable for dudes to wear?
I think it's got something to do with how much it reveals and emphasises the butt. Same reason why I've seen Americans, especially, mock the idea of men wearing many kinds of trousers without back pockets.

I think a big and/or emphasised ass is seen as a very "feminine" thing, so for any man to sport it means he must be gay or whatever, and therefore receive ridicule.

So a dude showing ass n not much else gives people the wrong impression?

I think it isn't necessarily helpful to try to find logic in such things.

Some things can be re-contextualised. EG a lot of people used to see kilts as being like skirts, and would make fun of the men who wore them as if it was effeminate, but now - as a thread here shows very well - they are seen as quite masculine.

So, some of it is just short-term social convention, and old fashioned views of gender. Women are "supposed to" want to display their bodies in a sexual way, so it's seen as OK for them to wear thongs, but men are "supposed to" be neutral providers, or functional warrior types, so these things are seen as too effeminate, and/or sexual / self-regarding / narcissistic ...

It doesn't really make sense. Luckily there are some areas where there are other factors that eventually shake things up and you see changes happening. EG sports people want smooth clothing that won't get tangled up or is aerodynamic etc. So there's a lot more lycra around. I think dance and other performing arts also have an influence. You see more leather around because of motorcycling, more rubber because of water sports and so on ...

So eventually things change, and in the meantime people should wear whatever they want to, and/or feel comfortable with ... within the law.

Makes sense.

I wear thongs and Gstringsand bikinis both mens and womens. The womens thongs specifically for working out are awesome. They keep the goods high and dry, and are invisible under the workout tights I like to wear. If you have issues with jock itch you should try the ones by Barely There. They even look like they could be unisex so there are never eyebrows raised in the locker room. When I am not working out i wear other materials The ladys undies feel much nicer against the skin. Never liked jockstraps. Too strappy. I never liked the way they would roll around my butt cheek. My guy loves them and would never wear my thongs. Oh well to each his own.
