We have rules against drastically misleading thread titles and posts, right?

OP links to the source like it were a credible news article, but no actual information is presented, and no one is directly quoted. The link suggests news re the possibke taxation of 401k savings, but the link is just to a poof piece that says nothing. The big scary liberal bill it cites at the end is actually co-authored by a republican, and if you look at the details of that bill, it has absolutely nothing to do with "punishing" savers.

tldr: honeymusturd is posting trash propaganda in order to rile you up. He's counting on you to not actualy click the link. This thread is a complete lie, and a waste of space on the board.

Indeed. A quick search of The Library of Congress shows the bill has been in committee for nearly two years (link) and has little chance of passing. Further, the bill merely seeks to address misuse of 401(k)s, as the spirit of the tax exemption is grounded in all truly sparing use of the savings until retirement - that said as someone who has paid the penalties for making an early IRA withdrawl and taking a 401(k) loan, and who doesn't understand the BFD about paying taxes.

so, his posts are populist, maybe with less substance as it should be...
but it doesnt says, that the thread should be erased. its up to everyone, to do somthing for the quality.

so, take this thread as the option, to discuss: Should there be a tax for savings past 401k?

I think it's pretty clearly an attempt to be "inflammatory." Not only is the content of his link not at all as his post would suggest, but the source itself is a bunch of word vomit trying to pass as news. The whole thing hinges on the reader not actually clicking the link.

Mainly trying to point out what an atrocious attempt at trolling this thread is. I don't know what it means it means in terms of board policy. Just disregard that part of my first post.
