Nick and Face are just high-larious. What does liking Chinese food have to do with the Cultural Revolution anyways?

if you want the serious answer,

the Cultural Revolution simply suspended the inter-personal constraints on dietary choices, so the serious post behind the actual post was not about the Cultural Revolution, but about the chinese matrix of pre-conscious values and reference points behind dietary choices

I cam across a citation to a book written by an anthropologist at either Cambridge or Oxford, or Oxbridge, whose thesis was precisely the point (believe he actually wrote something in it to the effect of tell me what you eat, and I'll tell you who you are); Among the instances he cited was the nipponese cannibalism of Se asians and Allied prisoners of war. (It's been a few years, and I have not been able to locate the full citation, else I'd post it, and try to locate a copy of the book.)

In that instance, he cites the order from Tokyo to conduct such acts, as a method to reinforce the nipponese sense of superiority and victory, but the memoirs of Allied survivors narrate the enthusiasm and gusto displayed by the individual nipponese foot soldiers at the prospect, and the act. Indeed, the Allied survivor narratives corroborate that a lot of these acts took place in the absence of the receipt of that directive from Tokyo.

Given actual history (including the avid seeking and consumption of endangered species), and this understanding, it becomes possible to deem credible other assertions of the full range of chinese cuisine

again, nothing speciously derogative intended here, just contemplation of the full range of the human condition
