    Hi everyone :)

I've been going over a few reports today and an idea came to me. What if we had a paid classifieds section of the site? There would be a set fee to post and all posts advertising something would go there. Thoughts?

Why did I think of this? I've come across two examples of posts that I feel should have a place on the site.
Example 1. An LPSG user has a collection of porn he wants to get rid of (old magazines and dvds). What better place than to sell it to his friends here on LPSG. That said there really isn't an appropriate place on the site for him to post that.
Example 2. An LPSG User is an artist and offering to draw an LPSG user's penis and turn it into art for a cost. Again, technically against site rules but there should be a place for that person to offer these services.

So what do you think? I like to ask you because often times the LPSG community has either experienced something here in the past, experienced on another site or has some wise words of wisdom on the subject. So fire away!

You may ask why a paid classified? The idea behind paid is the users will have to prepay a small fee to be able to list (say $1 per post). When people pay for something the quality of it goes up and filters out the spam and crap.

The idea is just awesome, Shap! That can become a real opportunity for all members who want to sell something or who are looking for something special. Or you can even add more options, such as leading people together who got the same particular passion.

Of course, a fee should be mandatory. People with a serious request should pay a small amount and will definitely understand that there is a special charge.

I would instantly use that option because I have to sell a lot of old vintage Colt magazines which are very rare, Can imagine that I would reach a lot of people with interest via LPSG. Would love to use that specific option.

Thanks a lot for all your great ideas. And please, make it possible!

    Your fan Ted

I agree with Teddy, it's an excellent idea. As a business owner and a long time member here I would have to mention a few things. The forum would have to have a constant Mod. Just because it opens up a member thinking I paid to post it so I can spam every thread advertising a redirect to the classifieds. For example putting posts in pic/underwear clothing forums - check out what I'm selling in the classifieds. Say posting pics of myself in thread Jocks wear Jockstrap. Under normal circumstance now, it's just a show off member but...If the post also includes I'm selling this worn jock in the classifieds. Now it's a different situation and how would you handle it ? Just food for thought as your exploring the idea

Subject of payment, unsatisfactory items, delivery should/have to, be discussed off site between buyer and seller. Just as Teddy mentioned about rare Colt Magazines. If there is International shipping involved real names have to be used and privacy issues. Customs Forms will need to be needed. And additional costs for shipping regardless of location.

I know sometime back you asked about though's on letting advertising to Only Fan/Cam Models. You know in away that's a whole separate beast and opens up a different can of worms yellow_giggle.gif

I'm confident in the fact that you will protect the responsibility of LPSG and it's members Shep. And Thank You for putting out to members opinion for changes/suggestions.

    Hey Shap (THANKS! again),

Yes, I, too, think a paid classified section as you described sounds like a very good idea, and I suspect it would be well supported by many LPSG members.

Sure. So long as people uninterested in it can minimize it like you're currently able to do with other forum sections. Nice way to get extra revenue for the site without being crazy obtrusive. A firearm forum I spend some time on has a classified section, and people give ratings/feedback. I think that's an important thing, to help prevent users from getting scammed.

As far as people disclosing personal information to others/customs, the ToS will possibly need wording changed. It's currently pretty strict about posting personally identifiable information. Also, on individual's heads be the potential consequences. If you want anonymity, just don't use the classifieds..?

There is a lady member of LPSG, that I once joked with about selling a bikini top she wore in a photo. I said something like " you could probably sell that top for a few hundred dollars " Her answer was Ha Ha, I think it is against the TOS to sell personal items.

But on a serious note, this being LPSG, with some very creative / very colorful personalities.
I would adopt some of the same restrictions that EBAY and possibly Craigslist have in pace, before starting anything

    Good luck

I think it's a good idea - I'd like to the see the same safeguards that other online retailers/traders have. I'd also like the payments between seller/buyer handled through the site (e.g. invoices/PayPal*/etc.), rather than making outside 'arrangements'. It offers protections on both sides.

Basically I want an eBay for grown-ups. I did sign up for Naughty Bids a long time ago, but I've never used it so I don't know what it's like.

I have been able to buy old magazines and dvds off eBay in the past, I think as long as you're careful with listings and photos you can fly under the radar.

I think @Shap mentioned in another thread that he ran a couple of paysites, so I think this is something that will be implemented and handled securely.

*PayPal doesn't like to be associated with adult material/pornography so they may not want to get involved.

So long as the items offered for sale don't get this site mired in the same muck as Backpage found itself in...
