Wow, Alphamale...I really got you going. Setting things ablaze is something I enjoy very much.

My question is: what is this "fetish" based on?

Answer:
My first sexual experiences. I was imprinted.

Can you rest now?

How did you know it was you??? :confused: Kidding of course :wink:

GDIMD was kind enough to respond to my posts today. Fellas, she is one tough cookie who knows her stuff. You better have all your ducks in a row when you're dealing with this lady! :biggrin1:

Ah I was never keen to that before and that's unfortunate to hear, because I always wanted to be the protective (but not overbearing) guy that could make my lady feel like a woman!! :smile:
Next time you're in Georgia, look me up. I can make you feel like a real Alpha Male. :flirt:

I think that pretty much sums it up really. I think many of the men in uniform, not all I know, but many are a bit more of the Alpha male then others. I for one though have no problem with admitting I like that! Call me old fashioned, whatever but I like feeling like a woman and being treated like one. I like the thought of a protective man. Not that I can't take care of myself because I can but there you go. I think men in uniform look self assured also and that is attractive. In the end it doesn't matter a bit if the personality isn't there. But they sure turn my eye regardless! :tongue:

I guess I'm NOT old-fashioned. :biggrin1: I want to feel as an EQUAL at all times. It's not a PC thing, it's a ME thing. I grew up as a girl who, while I was sexually attracted to men, also wanted to be "one of the guys". But at the same time I also want to be seen as sexy. So go figure.

I don't have a fetish for any particular profession except maybe computer programmers (which is the profession I was in myself, and am trying to get back into) and electrical engineers (which I also had some interest in going into as a career for myself). I mentioned jokingly before that I had a geek fetish.

I do like athletes for their fit bodies (to look at, not for 'protection'), and for their stamina (for marathon sex!) though - and I also like doing athletic activities myself as well, although I'm not particularly good at them (and am now out of shape and need to get back to this stuff!)

I say that I really like a geek/jock hybrid (since that's kind of how I am too!), and of course one who isn't sexist, racist or homophobic. (That stuff is important to me, especially, personally, for him not to be sexist, since THAT one affects me directly. The other two don't affect me directly - I just find them offensive.)

Yes, WIRW, we all know that you are the anomaly of all female anomalies. :rolleyes:

I hate to go off topic; but for some, maybe just a few black women of a certain socioeconomic class it's different. White women just started working en masse in the USA about 40 years ago. Whereas black women have been working mothers since we were brought here in chains in the 17th century. Maybe it's because people always want the exact opposite of what they have; but after centuries of taking care of everyone. Some of us like the idea of a big, strong, man taking care of us. It's not because we can't take care of ourselves. It's more cause we are tired of taking care of ourselves and everybody else. :cool: In certain black social circles having a husband that earns enough so that you can afford to stay home with the kids is a status symbol, NOT something of which to be ashamed.

I don't have a fetish for careers but I'll give you my take on why some might have these sexual stereotypes.

Coaches - Really? Coaches? I got nuthin'.
.
Well said, The biggest problem with society today is that they love to put everyone into catagories. Women are looking for strong protective men to fantasy play with. Many movies, TV shows and even sitcoms will cast the strong sex figures to be proctectors of society, wild and rebellious outlaws and highly successful business men.

As far as coaches are concern I have no idea either, why anyone would fantasies about a overbearing, screaming man who feels powerful because he yells all the time. I just don't find this attractive. Maybe it would be different if I like sports but I can't stand sports.

Yeah... I understand.

In my case, I had the whole "A woman's place is in the home" thing shoved down my throat from my fundie relatives and the community where I lived. I actually wanted to have a sex change when I was growing up, because of all this stuff! (it had nothing to do with sex itself - however, I wanted it as a child too, so I could play sports and join the Cub Scouts!) Most of the women my age there just went along with it and became fundy themselves. I broke away from religion over this very issue (well, that and I liked listening to rock music, and I wanted to have sex before I got married... :biggrin1:)

Now, I just want to do my own thing. And yeah, I'd get tired of taking care of myself and everyone else, too. I want to take care of myself but no one else. However, I actually would like some help from a man right now because of the situation I'm in at this time. I'm not going to go out and try to find someone with money, because that's not my thing, but I'm tired of worrying about money all the time. But I hate having to feel that way. I was so much happier when I had a steady income that was self-supporting... (and I had men in my life at that time too - moreso than I do now, in fact.)

And actually, I don't think I'm THAT much of an anomaly. I think society pressures people to be a certain way, and I was not pressured that way as a preschooler. The fundy relatives started in on that stuff after I entered school, and that's when I started having problems with other people as well. If not pressured, there would be all kinds of different combinations all along the spectrum among people. I mean, there are now but with more clustering than if people weren't pressured.

And for that matter, I actually do want a man who earns enough money that I could stay home - and I want to also earn enough money so that HE could stay home! (Yeah, I just wanna be RICH!)

uhm... women that grew up with an authoritarian parenting style, period.

A curiosity was set ablaze by another poster and I want to hear from ladies that have a fetish for cops, cowboys, marines, army guys, construction workers, doctors, businessmen, firefighters, celebrities, athletes, coaches, etc. etc.

My question is: what is this fetish based on? Is it the uniform they wear? Is it the way the person looks, the way the person acts, simply what they do for a living, how good they are in bed or what?

==

I hear ladies from time to time say "Oh cops are the best fucks hands down" or "Yeah army guys are always really good in bed" etc. but I'm not sure this makes any sense to me.

I don't see how ones profession dictates being good in bed or anything really for that matter other than what you do for a living and are seemingly good at.

Is it not possible for a person to look good, have a good personality, be good in bed and not be one of aforementioned professions? I'd like to think it is possible lol. :tongue:

Also, isn't it possible for someone to not look good, have a bad personality, be bad in bed and be one of the aforementioned professions? I'm pretty sure that is possible as well.

The last two paragraphs seem pretty cut and dry to me.

==

It's also safe to say that all of the guys in these professions aren't going to be clones of each other who look, act, walk, talk, and perform in bed the same way. In fact, most of them are so different within the same profession it's like night and day.

A previous example I used: If you like "cops", is that the overweight one eating donuts all the time or the tall, dark, handsome, ripped muscular one on steroids with a huge cock?

I mean the fetish is just liking "cops" right... looks, personality, and bedroom skill is irrelevant, right? So that fat guy has a chance right? Right? Exactly.

Looks, personality, bedroom skill, etc. all has to be an important part in the mix somewhere. It's like even if the ladies are saying that stuff doesn't matter it really does. It has to, because no one wants someone who is ugly, smelly, a jerk, and bad in bed no matter what. You aren't going to overlook a bunch of bad in someone just because they work a profession that you have a fetish for.

==

I never realized that what men did for work could be a far greater turn on to women than the actual way they looked, acted, and performed in the bedroom.

I mean ladies don't get me wrong, I along with other men have a slight fetish for women that are nurses, teachers, aerobic instructors, dancers, etc.

But to say that I would be highly turned onto them simply because of what they did and not their looks, personality, and bedroom skills seems a little odd.

What they did for work would initially attract me to them, yes... but if they didn't have the look/personality/skill then it wouldn't really matter what their profession was.

Subsequently, if they had the look/personality/skill then it also wouldn't really matter what they did for work.

==

I was told implicitly that it was not just the costume or uniform that they wear! Seems to me that anyone could put on the costume and fool someone into thinking that they were of that profession. How would anyone know?

So if it is not the uniform, then what is it? I mean when you're both naked, does it really matter what your job is at that point?

Is there some gratification that comes from just knowing what they do for a living in the back of your head when you are both naked and having sex?

As far as I can gather that has to be it. But from a man's perspective I can't ever recall having sex with a girl and being more turned on in the back of my mind by what she did for a living rather than how she looked, acted, and performed in the moment.

Maybe I'm missing something, any incite is much appreciated. :tongue:

That could be, too... I didn't grow up with that (and I'm very glad for that, too! I've been a "question authority" kind of person since forever!)

I realize I come across a bit harsh at times but it's because of some of the stuff that was shoved down my throat (and not in a good way :biggrin1:) growing up. I tend to react rather extremely to certain things, and one of them was touched on here.

Having said that, while I don't have a fetish for the occupations listed, would I date a guy with those occupations? Sure, if I liked the guy! :smile: I consider those occupations just as much dating material as any other occupations. I may have had a thing for computer programmers and electrical engineers myself partly because one of those was MY field of work (computer programmers, that is), and partly because, well, I'm drawn to fellow geeks! :biggrin1: I have dated a couple of doctors. I'd like to date an athlete because I think he'd be awesome in bed. :biggrin1: I may not quite be as willing to consider a businessman though, because of the whole "I got mine" greed of so many I've seen. (But I've seen that mentality in other people of varying occupations too, so you never know.)

You guys know their are watering holes that have whole groups of women cop groupies.....
Let me just say, never had any complaints...

If I could get a list of those watering holes...that would be great.
I have a thing for cops.
I also have a thing for cowboys, construction workers and bald headed men. I think it's an attraction to percieved hyper masculinity. So the Village People do not turn me on.
I also think that in my case, being a black female, the cops and cowboys thing is kind of a rebellion against what I am not 'supposed' to like. Especially the cop one. It has always been in my nature to be attracted to what is 'forbidden'. I have a myspace page that I semi dedicated to cops and at least once a week I get an e-mail from a black male calling me crazy or saying that I need help.
And yeah, even the fat ones if they make me laugh and otherwise have a good personality. Of course, my first dick was a fat guy who was also well endowed girth wise.:smile:

Only once a week and only by black males? Consider yourself lucky. Getting slammed for digging cops pretty much comes with the territory...doesn't matter where I post or who I tell...I always get shit for proudly and vocally loving cops... and it is equal opportunity bashing too.
It doesn't deter my fondness for LEOs though and is nothing compared to the bullshit that they have to endure every day.

Assuming I'm included as a 'basher' I can say I don't have any issue with your or anyone else's fetish of choice.
However, when you make outlandish claims like this
Fast forward to the fucking part...about 30 seconds into it I guessed he was a cop.
you should expect to be given the third degree.
Heck, being as it's a cop fetish you have, you might well be enjoying the interrogation.:cool:

Fess up. How could you tell?

Was it the way he took you down?
Were you given the right to remain silent?
Did he refer to condoms as 'shields'?
Did he call it his "billy club"?
"Night stick"?

I had really expected to run out of innuendos by now, but nope. Admittedly they are starting to get thin...like a blue line...:tongue:

Cops dominate much of my social networking, dating, hooking up, fucking as well. I am white but strangers, mostly men and sometimes women, have no problem telling me that there is something wrong with me for liking cops and then go on to list all of the reasons why they think cops are the scum of the earth. Lots of people hate cops not just black men. So I feel your pain.

Assuming I'm included as a 'basher' ...

You are taking yourself way too seriously.

Caveat: This is merely a side point, I'm not attacking GDIMD or downing her for being so involved with the boys in blue. :wink:

I think the "hate" for most cops stems from how the lowest level of the hierarchy operates and how the typical patrolman that rides around in his car all day long acts.

Let's face it, the typical patrol cop nowadays was the C or D or F student from school who was a bully, and now that they have to grow up and face the real, working world they take a low pay, boring job, that has some perks.

Those perks are that anyone you come in contact with has to do everything you say or you can arrest, ticket, or shoot them!! No questions asked until a year later when you're dealing with it in court! Oh and by the way, after the initial night/day of the incident you will never see the actual cops that were on the scene again, they are long gone... and they know they will be so in the moment they do whatever crazy thing they need to "bust the criminal", woo hoo! :tongue: I've heard this same description about regular cops from lawyers, doctors, teachers, business professionals, OTHER cops, and just about everyone else lol!!

Few points: They dangerously speed passed people at 150 mph to pull someone over who was only going 5 mph over the speed limit.

They plant and tamper with evidence.

They beat people up and/or shoot them when they are unarmed and not dangerous.

They deal in illegal activities as well, such as selling drugs or illegal firearms.

If you get pulled over at all, you're a criminal. This means cuffs to detain you, while they bring the dog to search your car, while they kinda rough you up until they find nothing and let you go on with your day like everything is "normal". Since 9/11 that is the standard procedure, doesn't matter if you're an 18 yo kid or an 80 yo elderly lady.

They themselves break the law all the time that they are supposed to be upholding and following just like the rest of us.

All of the above is the TYPICAL case for a regular, lower level cop - not the atypical one. If everyone doesn't see it happening like that right before their eyes on a daily basis then they are only fooling themselves. The low level cop mentality is that every non cop is a bad guy. That way it's a lot easier to catch the bad guys!

Just ask any normal, respectable, law abiding patrolman about his fellow coworkers and he'll tell you the same as me.

And for the record, I have more than 10 personal friends who are police officers all across the specturm, and they are very good friends of mine. I don't hate all cops at all, just the bad ones.

==

That being said, LEO's such as detectives, sergeants, captains, federal agents etc. are generally liked by everyone because they have an important job to do, not just power trip on people all day long over petty stuff. They are busting the big criminals who are really the threats to our cities, counties, states, and nation.

I myself like those type of LEOs, we NEED those type of people in this nation. What we don't need is a bunch of steroid using, gun toting, power tripping, high school bullies out there in police cars with a chip on their shoulder and the legal power to go around arresting people and shooting them for no reason.

Just sayin' :cool:

The assertion that many police officers are of low intellectual calibre is right. Many countries in sophiaticated western Europe have lowered IQ levels and educational qualifications for new applicants. A once honourable profession of protecting the people and their property has been replaced by a paramilitary force trained to act against the people, keep them under control. Former PM Blair and would be new Holy Roman Emperor polticized the once independent police. Of course some women will be attracted to such thugs in uniform: the dreaded Gestapo had quite a female following. Fortunately there are still a few good men in this profession.
