Peanut Butter and Jelly!!!! is there a better simpler, comfort sandwich to be made? (okay, the grilled cheese is great, but a grilled cheese sandwich is savory, not sweet) you cannot go wrong with a PBJ...i personally prefer them on thick wheat bread, and if you toast the bread it is even yummier...while i enjoy using different kinds of peanut butter, (and either strawberry or grape jelly), you cannot say no to the old reliable, brilliant, goober grape (or strawberry) peanut butter stripes jar...ah childhood memories that you can retain... my mom and i were such peanut butter addicts, that a jar of skippy super chunk would not last 25 minutes in the house...same with good old goober PB&J, we would each grab a tablespoon, i would have one hand on the jar pulling it towards me, she would have her hand on it pulling it towards her,m while we both attacked it with spoons... so let's hear it for PBJ sandwiches, perhaps the simplest, most delicious sandwich ever!
I hate peanut butter and jelly. I think the textures together are horrible and the flavor completely wrong. I've always hated it and always will. It's gross.
you should go visit Peanut Butter & CO, down in the village...not too far from you... it is awesome. sullivan street, just south of west 3rd...about 20 yards from NYU Law
PBJ.. I miss it so. I cry thinking about how I'd love to have one. The price of coming and staying at my house for a week is a big jar of Adams salted creamy peanut butter and a pound of aged cheddar. I don't like the premixed PBJ like from Smuckers or Kraft. And their plain PB is crap too, because they put sugar in it. PB-honey is nice and my fav is PB and lettuce sandwiches.
I'll keep that in mind, however if you have a food processor making your own peanut butter is really easy and you have complete control over the salt and sugar content. I recently made macadamia nut butter, that with melted dove chocolate and bananas is really outrageous.
I'd rather chomp on a tasty cream cheese and jelly sandwich on ever so soft nutritionless white bread. I've never really gotten that big a thrill from PBJ. The dry holding the jaw tight followed by the moist making everything slop out of the corners of the mouth- especially when the mouth is still numbed from Novacaine. Mmmm....cream cheese and jelly....mmmm...
I bought Cashew nut butter last week at our version of Fortnum and Mason, it is delicious :biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1:
Naaaah, you're all wrong. The best sandwich is peanut butter and banana ... nicely ripe banana, on any toasted bread you want. Comfort food from heaven ... proof of the existence of God.
Marmite? Maaaaaaarmite? Doesn't it ferment for three weeks up a dead buzzard's arse? This little bit of masochism explains how you Brits won an Empire ... and how you lost one.
