I don't think anyone else posted this topic here.

At first I was sad that they 3 guys were mauled (and one died)

Then when I heard that they were taunting the Tiger I didn't feel as bad for them.

Some news reports claimed the tiger had been teased and tormented by boys with slingshots.

They sure did. I never understood that logic, oh the tiger killed someone, let's kill it for BEING A TIGER! They should have just knocked it out and put it back in enclosure after they finished the new wall.

I think they would "have to" kill it. The fence of the tigers at my "local" zoo came down in a storm a while back but thankfully they were too scared to leave.

They lock them in their indoor area at night now in case it happens again.

Did they find out how the SanFran one got out, did someone let it out as suspected?

Would someone please tell me if they killed the tiger or not?

It was attacking one of the boys when they killed it. They really had no choice but to kill it right then.

I thought the tiger was still alive...I heard the zoo director on the news talking about it wasn't the tiger's fault and so I assumed they were going to reconfigure the boundaries on the habitat. He said this is something they do every few years or so, because the tigers figure out how to get out and it was due to be done again. I'm gonna fuckin kill someone if they killed that tiger!

Once they kill a human and get the taste of blood they have no choice. The animal must be put down. :frown1:

The cops came up on the tiger and shot cause they had a tiger coming at them. (sad, but understandable). If they were taunting the cat, the problem of stupid people breeding was reduced by one. Too bad anyone survived.

Last I heard the fenced in enclosure was not as high as it should have been. He could have gotten out at any time, he just never tried before, so he must have been taunted.

I heard conflicting reports. Some say that the tiger escaped and was attacking the one who was killed two friends, so he tried to distract it. Others say that they taunted the tiger and basically the tiger went "Screw You". If they were truly taunting the tiger, they deserved what happened to them. If they weren't, then the San Fran zoo is still at fault for apparently not having regulation fences...

The fault is totally the idiots that tormented the tiger.

I agree with you but this is America and people/relatives never want to accept blame for their own/relatives' actions. It's so much easier to blame someone else:rolleyes:

How hard is it to keep a tiger locked up???? If they are going to take the creature out of it's natural habitat why don't they just make sure the enclosure is sufficient for the job? Another it's a wild animal gone wrong.. the people in charge should be held accountable, that would discourage any further lapses in security I'm sure.

But that is why every few years they change the boundaries of the habitat because it is the nature of the tiger to stalk...how can they put down an endangered animal who was only doing what came naturally to him? It pisses me off so much...it's a tiger, what do people expect? The animal was being taunted.

Well, they didn't "put her down"... they shot her to avoid being attacked. I don't even know that their initial intent was necessarily to kill the animal, just to stop her from mauling people. But she died, nonetheless.

I think it's very harsh to say those kids deserved to be killed for taunting the tiger. Come on now! There is an expectation that the dangerous animals in a zoo are safely held in their enclosures even if taunted.
