Tight Foreskin

After a long time deciding, I'm finally going to go to the clinic this week to try and get booked in to be circumsised. I've had troubles for years and its mainly when I'm hard. My foreskin will go back fine but to return it it almost gets caught behind the head which can be really painful and also annoying when walking. I love the look of cut cocks so I am looking forward to it really I also have a prince Albert which I think stands out and looks hotter on a cut cock! Has anybody else had similar issues?

Circumcision is a pretty radical step to take when there are other methods available. It's your body and you do you, but some cortisone cream from your doctor and some stretching will relieve your discomfort without resorting to surgical intervention.

You have what is called paraphimosis, and it hurts like hell. The guys telling you not to get cut are clueless about how painful (and possibly dangerous) it can be. Get the circ. You will be uncomfortable for a few more days, and then your years of misery are over. NO change in sexual function.

Really? News to me! Perhaps with crystals and streaming energies and maybe a chicken sacrifice or two, but in the 21st century, it is a surgical issue. Or suffer. Can I presume that in this age of the Internet, when everyone is a medical expert, and in this time of measles and whooping cough, you are a no-vax advocate also?

Except that it is not. Both phimosis and paraphimosis are caused by a ring of tissue inside the foreskin not being quite big enough. This ring of tissue can be stretched extremely easily, and in fact that is now the gold standard of treatment. It can be stretched so easily that, for example, an ex of mine was complaining about his and in approximately three weeks went from never having seen the head of his dick when he was hard, to having it slip back pretty easily. Circumcision is no longer the gold standard.

I've been on this journey for phismosis and for me it was a good decision. I can't comment on the paraphismosis.

But I'd always thoroughly suggest everyone to talk to their Doctor first to be fully appraised about all the options available. Its a big change, make sure you have researched etc. As discussed above it is an option but not the only option. There is no question it will fix your problem though, but so might something else, non-surgical.

Which UK clinic are you looking at out of interest? There are also the various techniques to consider. Skin Glue, Shang Ring etc if you do opt for the circ route.

It looks like I cant edit my post on here but I would like to add - I tried stretching but for me had limited results and would return back to the tight condition. I also know people who had success with stretching but it doenst work in all cases, like mine. Stretching and creams is a great place to start though and if it works, thats great.

@wellhunguk That article is so sad :(. It does highlight the importance of such a decision and the need to be fully appraised of all the options.

The article rightly mentions that "experiences of men circumcised as adults differ dramatically."

Unfortunately once its done there is no way back and its hard to know for sure if the outcome will be what you want. This is one of the reasons I try to avoid flat out recommending circumcision but am happy to share my experience and outcome. It really is a big deal and a big life change potentially.

As someone who never was able to experience being intact, I’ve felt the same way. It was something that should have been my decision. I’m almost always depressed. Some days are better than others. My country seems to be nothing but hypocrisy to me. Trying to find people who understand without blowing me off. Trying to help as many people as I can to restore to try and get back some lost dignity. I’m happy that some people are cool with it. I’m not one of those. Life is a long fucking road.

Wow, it is insane to hear how much it can affect somebody. I often wonder how much cicrumcision can affect somebody mentally. Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough time coming to terms with it.

I’m uncut but also have suffered from a tight foreskin my whole life and have been quite self conscious about it for whatever reason, but also have never really felt any great sensation sexually as the head can never really be exposed while erect, especially reviving head or whatever. Or if god forbid my foreskin ever does fully retract, game over for me, it’s actually quite scary to have happen when it rarely does.

I’ve tried stretching kits and spent $$100’s. Honestly my commitment hasn’t been there admittedly, because I just don’t really know what i’m doing/ if it will work in the end/ if what i’m buying is bullshit or it’s potential/ mostly forgetful tbh.
What are the ‘gold standard’ treatments available?

I spent time researching and trying out some creams and things but nothing worked for me. If you have "never really felt great sensation sexually" because the head is never exposed it sounds like you have things quite bad. Getting cut could really make a big positive difference, it did for me.

It would be good to hear from any LPSG members who has tight foreskin and managed to resolve it without getting cut. I still think its the best thing to do.

@flooble described a "ring of tissue". Can you see this on your penis? Is there a certain point of constriction?

I would believe this ‘ring’ around the end of the foreskin is what is tighter for me and is causing majority of the retraction issues. But I’m also going to double the problem and say I feel I quite possibly had a shorter frenulum as well *sigh*.
Can the frenulum also be stretched? I have been using means to stretch out “horizontally” (trying to make the ring wider), but would pulling on the length “vertically” help maybe? (for use of no better words, sorry, i’ve not got many words to describe and put into context). I keep investing in fixes but not knowing what i’m doing and give up days in (my stupid fault).

When I say I feel less to zero sensation, that is from the head. I can still stimulate via the shaft, but no ‘sensation’ due to the head never being exposed (and I know it’s sensitive as hell under there, I can assure that much!). I don’t want to resort to circumcision, if I was circumcised I think the sensitivity of the head being exposed would be too much! Although it impacts the sensation, I do believe I could live the rest of my life and do nothing to treat it and be alright, it’s more for aesthetics and also in hope in that receiving head in future might not be so damn boring for me if I got it fixed, because right now it’s such a game of me being like ‘yeah that feels great’ when I am hardly stimulated by it.
