Do you have tin roofs on your home or on any surrounding homes or tin awnings? Does the sound of rain hitting them, soothe or annoy you?

I don't have a tin roof on my house, but the last house I lived in did, and I loved it. I wish I had the money to put a new tin roof on my house now....

There is a tin-roof awning over the patio outside my room. At first I hated the sound of rain falling on it. It would wake me up but now, as long as it's a soft rain I find it to be like white noise and very soothing. It's the hard rains and hail that wreck havoc with my already fragile sleep patterns.

It really depends if I'm tired or not. If I'm tired it's really soothing. If I'm the slightest bit antsy or can't go to sleep it annoys the hell out of me.
Yeah, that's pretty much how I feel about it as well.

The closest I have come to having a tin roof is the old storage shed unit.

we have a little shed right by our house that is used for those who smoke. there's no smoking in the house.

it's nice to go out there and sit sometimes, looking out the window or door at the bayou. it's got a tin roof. i love the sound of rain. it rains hard here. and i LOVE it!! but it gets annoying when it rains 3+ days in a row. one time it rained for like 7 days straight.

I enjoy the sound of rain pattering on a roof although there are situations when it can become overwhelming. I also enjoy the sound of wind chimes, croaking frogs, chirping crickets, crashing waves, rushing streams, thunder in the distance. Most of those can become overwhelming at times as well.
