I wouldn't fret over it too much. Some people are so bored and upset at their own lack of a real life that they've nothing else to do except attack others. This has happened before-and they have even opened thread topics complainng, There are all sorts here at LPSG, including people from other countries who don't have a firm hold on the English language and people who are not prize winning authors. Nowhere in the terms of service does it say all posters must spell correctly and use proper grammar, so, it doesn't matter what those who gripe have to say. Post to your hearts content, your posts may or may not have typos or spelling errors-they are still readable and understandable. (and most of us, have at some point made an error in spelling, grammar or something else-so ignore the stone throwers)

May want to become friendly with spell check before you enter the work force, employers have much less tolerance than the folks here.

Sorry you feel attacked Morano; but 19 is old enough to speak and write English correctly. Occassional slip ups are to be expected but text or leetspeak is unacceptable. Especially since it is a part of the Terms of Service (TOS) for the site.

Also keep in mind that English is not the first language for many of our memebers. On the off chance you are providing much needed information many people will not understand you.

RBKWP's posts are at best unintelligible. They don't even read like that of a person for whom English is a second or third language. I don't know what he's trying to prove by writing like that but it is most annoying. :irked:

LPSG Terms of Service (Updated 12/2006)

    Dear LPSG.org Members,

This forum is dedicated to men and women who are fascinated by, curious about, affected by, or have a large penis. It is our hope to keep this forum free for all, and allow it to flourish as an open online community. To that end, we are announcing the following forum guidelines ("Terms of Service") which apply to the open forum, chat room, private messages between members, and the gallery. Please read them CAREFULLY and abide by them whenever possible. These guidelines are not intended to inhibit anyone, but simply to make things better for us all. If you violate the guidelines, your post may be edited and/or deleted, you may receive a warning, or you could be temporarily or permanently banned from LPSG.org.

Membership- Membership at LPSG is restricted to members who are at least 18 years of age. Membership by individuals under 18 is not allowed. Members who are found to be underage will be banned from the community without warning. Additionally, pretending to be underage is equally unacceptable. LPSG takes its age requirements extremely seriously.

Education- Our initial purpose is to promote knowledge and understanding of sexual issues and their implications in our relationships. We hope you'll ask questions! Feel free to post links to things you've read and would like to discuss, or offer insights from your own experiences. We want to get to know you, but "know it alls" who are abrasive from the onset are generally not well received. Read more than you write until you're here long enough to find your groove.

Fun- This is a community of friends, some of us fairly long term friends, therefore, the mood is often one of flirtatiousness. Feel free to join in the fun, but don't mistake this to mean that everyone is open to sexual advances from strangers. Many members dislike receiving sexual Private Messages (PMs) from people they don't know. Here, as in real life, you need to get to know someone before determining what is and is not appropriate between the two of you. So post for a while and let us get to know you first, okay? We encourage everyone to post in your Profile whether or not you are open to receiving PMs. Members who disregard others' wishes not to be bothered with PMs may be banned. Please respect people's boundaries so we can all have fun here.

Nudity- Due to the age restrictions around membership at LPSG, nudity is not allowed in avatars. Nudity, however, IS allowed in your personal gallery. The reason for this is that the gallery is restricted to members who are least 18 years of age, while any guest may read the forum. Members who upload nude avatars will have those avatars deleted and will receive a PM from the Moderator Team. Any member who repeatedly uploads nude avatars after being warned will be banned without warning.

Gallery and Avatar Content - When you upload a personal avatar or picture into the gallery, you are submitting content to this site. By submitting content to this site, you grant us an irrevocable, non-exclusive license to display the content and represent that you are legally qualified to grant us this license. That is, you are allowing us to maintain that you are of legal age, the content contains only people of legal age, and that, if the content is not of your person, you have the right to submit it here for LPSG to publish. Copyrighted, stolen, or altered content may be deleted from the gallery without warning or discussion. Please note that this also means that we reserve the right to NOT delete your gallery if you choose to abruptly leave LPSG for any reason.

Freedom of Speech- We have a longstanding tradition of freedom of speech of which we are very proud. In order to understand what this means, here is what it is and is not: It IS the right to speak your mind, in the words of your choosing. It is our hope that you will choose your words as carefully as you want members to choose theirs in response. It IS NOT the right to have your words go unchallenged. We respect your RIGHTS, but have no obligation to respect your ideas. If what you post here gets challenged and that seems upsetting to you, you may prefer to just read. In certain sections or while discussing volatile topics, we understand that arguments and heated debate may occur. There comes a point, however, where posters may become extremely abusive to one another. Abusive posts may be met with a post/note by the moderators on the open forum and/or may require moderator intervention. Additionally, language that is consistently racist, sexist and/or homophobic may be considered trolling (see: "Other Moderator Intervention" for more).

Trolling-NOT COVERED UNDER FREEDOM OF SPEECH! A "Troll" is someone who is consistently disruptive or abusive to other members in most of his or her posts (this is not meant to include humor, differences of opinion, or the occasional snarky remark). Trolls will be discussed by the moderating staff, and if agreed upon by a majority, our decision will be final and they will be banned. Spammers and advertisers will be banned without warning and their posts will be deleted.

Accounts- Members here are discouraged from having multiple accounts. We realize that sometimes several members of a family will use the same computer and we encourage that. However, if a member sets up multiple accounts to post from for the purpose of disrupting the board, that will be considered trolling. Members who post from multiple accounts for the purpose of trolling the board will be banned without warning.

Equality- One voice is one vote. Regardless of position, no member here is more important than the next. We have a unique group of people male and female, gay and straight, young and young-at-heart who all enjoy spending time in each other's company and learning together. You are free to be a racist or homophobe if that is what you truly are, but you will likely not make friends.

Language- We try to promote the use of good grammar, therefore we'd prefer that you not use leetspeek or internet shorthand, as in “2” instead of “to” or “too,” or shortened words like “ur” for your. For many of our members, English is not their first language and this makes your posts difficult to understand. Perfection is not required, but common sense is appreciated. Simply try to be mindful of these things in order to keep the posting quality of the forum high. Please make your posts relevant, clear and as concise as possible, so that we all may benefit from LPSG.org. Try to put posts in the most appropriate section, and please, only one place.

Moderation- The board is moderated by a group of volunteer moderators whose ONLY purpose is to help the flow of the board run smoothly, keep underaged members from joining, and keep the site free of spam and advertisements. The Moderators try to ensure that topics find their home in the proper sections (such as moving personal ads from New Member Introductions to the personal ad section, etc.) and that the overall tone of the board remains open and inviting to members. Our purpose is not to placate members whose feelings get hurt or to "see it your way." We're here, like you, to participate in the conversations AS EQUALS and occasionally move a thread or ban a troll. Members are encouraged to use the ignore button for individual posters whom they find annoying.

    Your friends at LPSG.

Totally agree, you shouldn't feel attacked by people pointing out your mistakes but instead try to pay attention to, or use spellcheck like somebody mentioned. Just because perhaps you're not as good at spelling or grammar as the other person doesn't mean there aren't resources out there to help you. People do it all the time, so all in all those who call you out on it are just trying to help you for the future, so instead of being angry you should thank them and start to think about your spelling / grammar.

Don't use a lot of punctuation? No need for caps? Spelling is a hassle?

As someone else said, good luck in the job market!

In a sense, this is how I felt when Eminem and Alicia Keys spoke ebonics while accepting their Grammys.

    Ebonics, from my Urban Dictionary:

Ebonics: "Yo G, you frontin me?"

English: "Excuse me, my peer, are you attempting to influence me to engage in a violent action with you?"

    ----------

Ebonics: "You gots to git those Benjamins so you cin git dat bling-bling fo yo ride"

English: "You need to get money so that you can get expensive accessories for your car."

    ----------

Ebonics is really the study of the rules applied to turn English into some uneducated sounding pseudo-language whose purpose is for the most part to insult and denigrate "Whitey." Here is what I learned in Ebonics 1 :

    i) In any English word with a contraction, eliminate the apostrophe and any letters after it.
    1) Is it alright if I rollerskate through the campus ?
    English) Yes, it's alright
    Ebonics) It OK

ii) In a word ending in "d," substitute "dt" or "oodt."
    English) That's all very fine...
    Ebonics) That all reeeal gooudt....

iii) In a word ending in "ore," eliminate everything after the first "o" and add an apostrophe.
English) I won't tell you again, please shut the door.
Ebonics) I ain tellin you no mo', shet de do' !!

iv) For suffixes with 2 identical consonants followed by "er," eliminate the "er."
English) That Negro was larger and was holding a pistol.
Ebonics) Mah nigga was bigga had his fingah on yo' trigga.

    v) In general, most "er"s are dropped and replaced by "ah."
    English) Tower of Power
    Ebonics) Towah of Powah

vi) However, in the case of a plural, "ers" is replaced by "az."
    English) Negroes
    Ebonics) niggaz

    Now, a brief poem :
They go my niggaz all up in da hooudt,
Niggaz be pimpin' just like dey shooudt,
Leroy drive his Caddy right into a dee-itch
'Cause his punk-ass homey is too much of a bee-itch
Sistah on the pipe she hit on da stem
Homeboy got his ass in jail ageein'
Got me a supakool layin' in da free-idge
Niggaz be flyin' high off'n da bree-idge
Sambo fucked up, he high on dat sherm
Bustin up a cap hey cuz got de germ

I'm a teenager as well and I never write like that.
I always try to write the full words. Those couple of extra seconds aren't going to be missed. It makes your post easier to read (I had to read some parts of your post a couple of times before I understood), certainly because a lot of people here don't have English as their first or second language.

I don't want to attack you. I'm just asking to make your posts more easily readable for the members here.

    Yeah, this isn't an attack.

If you're texting/Twittering someone then keep it short. There's no problem there.

On a forum such as this one, however, you're posting for many people who appreciate not being forced to decode what you say. Why read your posts if they require effort? Txtspeak also shows a lack of respect for your readers because it says you don't care enough to put any effort into communicating your point. Again, why read your posts if you don't respect the people you're writing to? If you wish to be treated intelligently then post intelligently. Otherwise you'll be dismissed. Individuality is great. Poor grammar is not.

I sometimes get irked by poor grammar or misspelled words but I hope I have enough couthness so that I don't feel the need to berate anybody about it. As long as I can figure out what you're saying and I can find something funny to say about the subject matter, I'm happy. :tongue.

    Hmmm...

-- People who use text speak are viewed as less smart
-- People who abuse/rant at text speakers are viewed as even less smart.

So, I guess it all comes down to this: How smart do you want to appear to be?

No offense to any other pro-grammar posters here. I agree with them, which (by my own logic) means that I am the least smart of all.

    Dear Morono,

I suppose you think this guy is cool:

YouTube - how to get free auto tune

He isn't. He's a fuckwit, and the fact that he's obviously so proud of it is something that I find repellent.

When you learn to speak English, try it. I find your manner of writing the equivalent of watching somebody vomit. Who would object if you stopped writing like an ignorant ghetto-assed imbecile? Try it and see. I'll wager it would be far fewer that those you have been "attacking" you.

If you want to be accepted, then act acceptably. If you want to alienate others, shut up whinging when you succeed.

If you want to be perceived as a nitwit, you're going about it in the right way.

    :smile::smile::smile::smile:Oh, and have a nice day! :smile::smile::smile::smile:

His writing style isnt 10% as annoying as your opinions. He is one of the most interesting members here & his writing style is unique & part of his character. I have no problem understanding his points.

Maybe its your comprehension skills that are lacking? Youve certainly completely misunderstood many of my posts! Maybe age & bitterness has withered your brain? I do hope not, I would weep.

Why are u attacking him anyway? This thread is not about him so stop making random, personal critiques. Im sure he doesnt give a rats cock what u think. No sane person does...

It's one thing to make a mistake or use a shortcut but when it borders on difficult to read then its just self defeating.
